Rep. Dane Eagle resigns job with Building Industry Association

State Rep. Dane Eagle of Cape Coral has resigned his job as director of development
at the Lee County Building Industry Association, association chairman Victor DuPont
said today.
Eagle, 30, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol at 2 a.m. Monday at
a Taco Bell in Tallahassee

Eagle could not immediately be reached for comment but in a written statement on Tuesday,
he said that "While there are some decisions that I would have made differently, I do not
believe there is a complete and accurate picture of the events" involving his arrest.
He wrote that under advice of his lawyer he could not discuss the details of the arrest but that
he would "at an appropriate time."
