Japan to Lead Global Nuclear Security Efforts: Abe

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Monday that his country aims to make every effort to ensure nuclear safety and prevent nuclear terrorism.

Japan has a responsibility to lead efforts on strengthening nuclear security as it experienced the accident at Tokyo Electric Power Co.'s Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant, Abe said.

In a speech delivered at the two-day Nuclear Security Summit that opened in The Hague Monday, Abe said he himself will lead the efforts.

do not know what to do to clean the mess up. They need to be part of the security efforts but can they lead? I think not. Let some country that is trying to go nuke free lead.
