LAWYERS FOR 2 EX-CHRISTIE AIDES CALL FOR IMMUNITY

By GEOFF MULVIHILL

Lawyers for two former underlings of Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said in separate court filings Friday that a legislative committee should be able to offer their clients immunity from prosecution in exchange for providing information for the committee's investigation of possible political payback.

The briefs on behalf of former Christie aide Bridget Kelly and ex-campaign manager Bill Stepien were highly critical of the court filings from the lawmakers early this week, questioning their motives for releasing emails involving their clients and their legal positions.

Kelly's lawyer, Michael Critchley, compared the committee's arguments to "Alice in Wonderland."

The issue before a state court judge in Trenton is whether the lawmakers can force Kelly and Stepien to comply with subpoenas in the investigation of politically motivated traffic jams created near the George Washington Bridge last year. The judge, Mary Jacobson, had asked both sides to write briefs on the issue of immunity.

No immunity. Cough it up or else contempt of court and off to the dregs with you, where you will be given a time-out to think about what it is you're wanting immunity for. No immunity. No plea bargains. Just spit it out. Now. What's wrong with the truth? "Truth has a power of it's own." ~~ Howard Zinn.

Why is justice so damn slow, when the high and mighty are being investigated?

They are both knee deep in shit and they know it. I agree the whole thing is moving slow. A lot of the focus by the media has been lost on the story with other things happening. The pressure needs to be kept on them until they squeal like pigs.

You get the big bad guy when the little bad guys feel the safety gained from providing evidence exceeds the threat the big bad guy poses.
It seems paradoxical to demand greater speed and then lament that the speed has a cost.

I'd be willing to trade immunity to 2 small fry in order to set a righteous hook in Christie's jaw.

Political machines like Christie's uses these little guys as cut-outs to protect themselves. Let's hook the big one this time.

The aides careers are ruined at any rate, let them slide if they'll give up the goods.

I believe that as responsible citizens we should encourage the authorities to immunize the all prison inmates against disease while they're serving their sentences.

- Now think about it, calmly this time. Don't you too? Hmmmmm?

The legislature's investigation better not screw up the Federal prosecutors investigation by offering immunity. I have no problem with the Federal prosecutor offering these knuckle heads a plea bargain to nail Christie. But there is no need to let them off the hook altogether. The a Federal prosecutor already has enough on Bridgette Kelly and David Wildsteen to indict. Once that happens, their lawyers tune will change.

Just say no to immunity, make them have many sleepless nights for the shit that they did. Let them dig deep into the whole corrupt system and find out about the relief money, the bribes, this shit has to come to an end not just in New Jersey but in the halls of congress where it is more damaging to America, where these politicians all leave after becoming multimillionaires.

now that "the Federales" have subpoenaed PA Chairman David Samson regarding Port Authority properties other than the GWB. Christie never paid Samson a salary to run the PA, but maybe that's because Samson was paid enough by the clients of his law firm who did business with the PA!

That alone is more than enough to take Christie down without Kelly and Wildstein's "help." So both the federal and state investigators had better tell them to stop whining about immunity and start "singing" about Christie if they want reduced jail sentences!

Period.

- Because that's the only crime a Republican can commit. Everything else just requires an apology or going to rehab......
