Jeff Corzine, the 31-year-old son of former NJ Gov. Jon Corzine has died, according to various media reports.
Jeff had been working as a drug counselor in California, according to the New York Post.
Mr. Corzine is obviously devastated by this tragic loss, a Corzine spokesperson told the Post. We ask that all respect his familys privacy during this very difficult time.
Jeff, along with Josh and Jennifer, was one of three children of Jon and Joanne Corzine.

(135,425 posts)It may have been an accidental or intentional overdose of a controlled substance. That's a wild ass guess with no 'evidence' on my part, but very often people with addiction issues become cheerleaders for others with the same problems, and he was doing drug counselling work at the time of his death.
Then again, it could be something else entirely.
I think I might be right, though....see this article:
Jeffrey Corzine, 31, whose body was found in Mexico's largest metropolis "several days ago," had failed to respond to messages from his loved ones, the source said. The family launched a search that tracked him down by following his credit card usage, the source added.
It wasn't clear how the aspiring photographer died or the exact date, but the source confirmed that Jeffrey had long struggled with drugs and alcohol.

(135,425 posts)You can shake your fist at a random accident, but when it's self-inflicted, even accidentally, the old "What If" and "If Only I..." trains pull into the station. It's easy to tell folks "There, there, it's not your fault," but it's harder for them to believe it.
Sucks.

(10,597 posts)Drug addiction is a disease which I hope can be cured sometime in the future. He must have been a caring person, if he was willing to work with others who were suffering with it.
Sounds like he tried to fight it.
