Graham links Ukraine to Benghazi
Source: MSNBC
A top-ranking Republican is linking Russias ongoing military action in Ukraine to the Obama administrations handling of the 2012 terror attack on a U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya.
South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham said Tuesday Russian President Vladimir Putin decided to invade the Crimea region of Ukraine after taking note of how U.S. President Barack Obama dealt with the aftermath of the Benghazi attack, which killed four Americans, including a U.S. ambassador.
It started with Benghazi. When you kill Americans and nobody pays a price, you invite this type of aggression, Graham tweeted Tuesday afternoon.
Putin basically came to the conclusion after Benghazi, Syria, Egypt - everything Obama has been engaged in - hes a weak indecisive leader, he said in a follow up tweet about a half hour later, before adding, I think Putin believes Obama is really all talk and no action. And unless we push back soon, the worse is yet to come.

And I have to remind them about the US actions in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya, where they acted either without any UN Security Council mandate or through perverting a mandate, as was the case in Libya, Putin said.

(95,337 posts)The GOP really want to make Benghazi the '9/11' of the Obama Administration. And it really galls me that none of the 13 Embassy/Consulate attacks that occured under the Bush administration had this much scrutiny like what happened on Benghazi.

(1,201 posts)or does Lindsey Graham sound more and more like if the Hanna Barbara character Huckleberry Hound had joined a white citizens council group circa 1963? He is just dying to spew racist hatred of our president, yet his drawl sounds so calm and restrained.

(53,661 posts)He's perfected the William F. Buckley drawl, don't you think? From back when people heard him on PBS and thought he was an 'intellectual.'
You can't really divide their act from what the results are. The Tea Party is simply the full monty version of the old GOP.
And yeah, the racism is getting more obvious everyday. No matter what Obama does, he's not good enough, as shown by EarlG:
Obama will continue being the better man, though:
Of course, that's not his quote, that was added.

(8,127 posts)to degrade and twist any situation.. don't they ? talk about reaching for nothing.. sheesh.
I really hope the united states and its European allies find some economic ways to stick it to Russia. Putin is a dipshit hate monger (beyond just his anti-gay stance) asshole who will never leave his positions of power unless someone pushes him.. at least with sanctions perhaps his own people will do the pushing. his only claim to fame during his whole tenure was looking more intelligent than president shrub when they got together... and lets be honest, that's not exactly anything to brag about.
That being said, I think the people of crimae should probably get some say in the fate of their region.. no one should be forced to stay a part of a nation that just went through a coup...
beyond them stationing more troops to defend their bases, Russians shouldn't be marching around the region as if they own the place. its not right. no matter who does it. I was against us invading Iraq, and im against him invading his neighbors. period.
again tho, I think crimae should be allowed to vote and determine what their region ultimate does.

(2,062 posts)Sad part is the media just lets him slide.Never jumping on him to prove is statements, never asking to show them evidence, just letting this old piece of shit say what he wants. Has anyone in the media confronted him about all the Bush era consulate and embassy attacks? Has anyone in the media pointed to Condelezza Rice's incorrect statements and questioned him. Time for these media people to step up and find some integrity...start asking the though questions.....
