Harry Reid calls Koch brothers 'un-American' over Obamacare ads

Majority Leader Harry Reid, angered by a new round of anti-Obamacare ads he called "lies," condemned the Koch brothers as "un-American" on the Senate floor Wednesday.

... The Nevada Democrat, in the first of two floor speeches on the subject Wednesday, questioned the veracity of new advertisements from Koch-backed groups that feature individuals sharing stories about the apparent hardships they've faced because of the Affordable Care Act.

... But he returned to the floor hours later with a hint of a retraction, saying he was not in position to say that all ads from the group were lies — only "the vast, vast majority of them."

But he went further in attacking the ads' fiscal backers. "It's time that the American people spoke out against this terrible dishonesty of these two brothers, who are about as un-American as anyone that I can imagine," Reid said.

4. Two of the richest guys in the world

According to Rachel Maddow, if the two main Kochs were one person, that person would be the 2nd richest person in the world, and if the big pipeline goes through from Canada to the gulf we're all in a tizzy about, they'll be the two richest. I guess that's why one of them recently decreed that the minimum wage should be repealed. Glut makes them hungry. Their dad made them start out at the bottom for a while, I understand, so they know what it means to suffer and sacrifice. Sure.

I've not been able to understand how anyone in the Dem Party can back Keystone XL. It's not just an environmental
disaster; it's also going to double the wealth and info pollution of these Koch Bros...they are the major profiteers at both ends of Keystone XL, both in Canada and their refineries in Texas.

I think Harry Reid is right to call these 2-3 Birch Spawn unAmerican. I hope he doesn't apologize for speaking this truth.

Sometimes Harry can demonstrate surprising Dem. backbone.. Like when he told Obama that Soc Sec/Chained CPI fixes were "off the table" in 2012...reportedly "threw them in the fireplace" Also when he repeated Huntsman Sr's remarks about Romney's true finances. Calling the Koch's unAmerican is another welcome entry on this list of Reid speaking truth to power.
