‘My Little Pony’ fan, 11, may be brain damaged after hanging himself over anti-gay bullying
Source: RawStory.com
A North Carolina boy who was bullied for liking the television show My Little Pony is in critical condition and expected to have brain damage after trying to kill himself.
Hes come home and say, Mom, Im tired of people being mean to me, Im tired or people calling me gay, Im tired of people telling me Im ugly, that Im stupid, mother Tiffany Morones-Suttle told WTVD.
Less than two weeks ago, 11-year-old Michael Morones finally decided that he couldnt take the bullying any longer. He hung himself off the side of the bunk bed, off the railing, his mother explained.
Unfortunately, the oxygen supply to Michaels brain had already been cut off for too long by the time his parents found him. Hes now fighting to recover with a tube down his throat in Raleighs WakeMed hospital. Doctors have said that he could suffer life-long brain damage.

(860 posts)It breaks my heart that he suffered so much for liking something I like too.
I really, really hope that something will happen to the bullies. Something is obviously not right at that school, if the kids there are so cruel that others kids will try to kill themselves to get away.
Just typing that made me want to cry. I hope he wakes up and makes a recovery. I want him to see the huge support he's getting everywhere, so he knows he's not alone.

And anyone who has a problem with that, IS the problem.

(8,217 posts)I am not a brony nor have I watched that show, but I didn't equate liking a show as part of sexual orientation.
Poor boy and poor family.
They really need to get a handle on bullying, particularly if it follows to the net.

(8,217 posts)It's better that way.
I have no idea what "Isis" is.
I tend to have a wide variety of interests, things that I like, but I tend to be not obsessed with things, so I rarely buy merchandise or things like that.
I do buy them sometimes for my collector friends.

(46,354 posts)I was in my early teens and a walking ball of hormones, so of course I loved this show.
How this was become even thought of as lesbian, I have no idea.
But to bullies, logic is verboten...

(8,217 posts)The main character is pretty.
See when I was young, I got to watch Asian kiddy shows, with the Power Ranger types and Biomen. They were popular in Asia before it got introduced in America.
They even share props from show to show.
I was lucky not to be bothered by bullies.

(46,354 posts)Go to Youtube and look up "Dynaman."
It was a show like "Power Rangers" that was on the syndicated show "Night Flight" years before the Power Rangers.
Just imagine the Power Rangers with the dialogue written by the MST3K guys.

My classmates loved Shaider due to the female lead who wears a mini-skirt and jumps high up in the air for some fan service.
Magmaman and Ultraman were AWESOME!

How do you prove it? What legal standard would you suggest?

Mostly because the bullies themselves go home and learn to be bullies. The punishment should be spread to the parents.

(57,280 posts)but what we have to do to stop this terrible scourge we place onto people identified as "other" who tend to be smart, gentle, creative, that is killing them. I wonder how bullied the gunman at Sandy Hook was, too. We need to seriously deal with bullying in this country. From the Chris Christi's to those who made a sort of hell for Michael Marones.
How have we gotten to turning all life and all people into winners and losers?

(21,046 posts)And add "John Doe #1", "John Doe #2" etc. And then take depositions to find out which kids bullied the boy and the specific times and dates.
That is what you do when you aren't sure who the defendants are.
Then you dismiss (non-suit) the defendants that were not part of the bullying.
