Hoboken mayor turns over journal to U.S. Attorney’s Office, which she says documents Sandy aid claim

Source: Bergen Record

Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer turned over her journal and other documents to the U.S. Attorney’s Office Sunday, which she says show Governor Christie’s administration threatened to withhold Superstorm Sandy aid if she didn’t approve a development.

A spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office said the office does not discuss publicly its meetings and would not confirm whether the office is investigating Zimmer’s allegations.

The mayor released a statement saying she met with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Newark for several hours at their request and turned over the journal entry she cited as proof of her conversations with Guadagno and Constable.

“As they pursue this investigation, I will provide any requested information and testify under oath about the facts of what happened when the Lieutenant Governor came to Hoboken and told me that Sandy aid would be contingent on moving forward with a private development project,” Zimmer said in a statement.

I used to keep such a log, and for just that reason: contemporary records, written before the current crisis, have a lot of credibility.

but likely underlings are involved on both sides

and the paltry amount her town received is evidence

and so is the very existence of the construction project

There has historically been corruption in NYC area

over construction bids, grants, cost overruns

It's the way the game is played

Christie cancelled the NJ-NYC rail tunnel almost
2 years ago

Don't think that was linked to this

There are many details in daily recordings that may be lost to one's memory at a later date. It will be these details that do the deed. Details are what brings down most criminals.

especially if he assumes he's already done so, or given us peons in the public all the info we deserve to have, OR he has that uniquely republi-CON disease: if you think something is such-and-such-a-way, and you simply believe it strongly enough, then it actually IS that such-and-such-a-way. Because you're firm in your convictions! All you really need is the strength of your convictions. "Facts" are irrelevant.

heart!! It's not a wire but it's better than just remembering what was said. She said it upset her so much she had to write it down. I can see that.
