Two men have died of swine flu in northern Spain, where an outbreak of the H1N1 virus has left over 40 people in hospital, officials said Tuesday.

Laboratory tests confirmed that the virus killed a 62-year-old man, who died Saturday in a hospital in Cantabria, the regional government said.

A 76-year-old victim, who had been suffering from other unspecified diseases, died at a hospital in Zaragoza in the region of Aragon where he was being treated for the H1N1 virus, a government spokeswoman for the region said.

Another 43 people who have tested positive for the H1N1 flu virus are receiving treatment in hospitals in Aragon, including 18 who are in intensive care, she added.

The boyfriend is required to get one because he works in healthcare. He bitches and moans about it because he swears he got sick once from a shot. I call him an anti-vaxer and I get a fuck you

We have a friend that almost died from it a couple years ago. We were looking up air fares for the funeral it was that bad. But he pulled through. He had some other health issues that made it worse.

11. Wash your hands before touching your nose or eyes as this is a primary way it is spread.

Influenza virus has a narrow temperature range it can live in, why it takes up residence in the respiratory tract.

The virulence of the strains is simply making it ineffective. The health care professionals I see, which includes a number of lab techs and RNs who are dealing with it daily, are saying the mutation rate is phenomenal, and that the most effective way to reduce your risk of exposure, is regular hand-washing, keeping your hands away from your face, and maintaining a distance of at least three feet from those who exhibit symptoms. I got it, and while it is longer lived than it has been in the past, the symptoms do not seem as intense.

Several dead from swine flu -could be 8. So maybe I was thinking more about that one.

The 8 are from the H1N1.

The H5N1 is freaky because the Chinese gov't says there is no H5N1 activity where this person visited, and she never ventured into areas near any poultry or birds. So how did she get it, if she wasn't in close proximity to birds?

hitting younger people hard. It was reported that this year's flu has come sooner in the year and more people are infected than normal and we are over 6 weeks out from the "season" being over. It also reported that older people had either had this strain or had been exposed to it and are not as hard hit.

Thank all the gods that this year they got the vaccine correct - there was a report out of Canada this past summer that if you are given a flu shot but it doesn't do anything for the particular strain that is currently going around, the vaccine actually makes the flu symptoms worse than if you hadn't had the vaccine. All of the previous guessing games did not do anyone any favors.
