Exposed: The Soviet Union spent $1 billion on mind-control program

Source: news.com.au

THE race to put man on the Moon wasn't enough of a battle for the global super powers during the Cold War.
At the time, the Soviet Union and the United States were in an arms race of a bizarre, unconventional kind - that has been exposed in a new report.
Beginning in 1917 and continuing until 2003, the Soviets poured up to $1 billion into developing mind-controlling weaponry to compete with similar programs undertaken in the US.
While much still remains classified, we can now confirm the Soviets used methods to manipulate test subjects' brains.

And we have drug companies here doing the same thing. And don't think we haven't fucked with the minds of prisoners at black sites and Gitmo.

Who knows what goes on in our prisons, schools and mental hospitals. I shudder to think.

...but not on an individual basis. Controlling large groups is the best way and the only electronics needed is a standard TV set. If you don't believe it try talking to a large number of people and see how many will pay attention to you. Then turn on a TV set with exactly the same talk and watch the entire room go into hypnotic synchronization.

The U.S. Army at the end of World War Two did extensive research into the Nazis mind control system and adapted it for it's own use for training soldiers. Then it leaked out into the world of commerce and the dumbing down of America began in earnest.

You can spent countless hours trying to convince one person of something and have no success. Put 100 individuals in the same room and present the same material. At least half of them will be agreeing with you at the end of the identical time period.

The power of bombs, guns, armies, navies, is nothing compared to the power of collective psyche.

Russia’s propaganda machine is stronger than ever thanks to cable network RT. Its Syria coverage offers the proof.

13. Sung Myung Moon spent more than that just running the Washington Times

The Washington Times has lost money every year that it has been in business. By 2002, the Unification Church had spent about $1.7 billion subsidizing the Times.[45] In 2003, The New Yorker reported that a billion dollars had been spent since the paper's inception, as Moon himself had noted in a 1991 speech, "Literally nine hundred million to one billion dollars has been spent to activate and run the Washington Times".[46] In 2002, Columbia Journalism Review suggested Moon had spent nearly $2 billion on the Times.[21] In 2008, Thomas F. Roeser of the Chicago Daily Observer mentioned competition from the Times as a factor moving the Washington Post to the right, and said that Moon had "announced he will spend as many future billions as is needed to keep the paper competitive."[47]

In comparison, $1B over some 86 years amounts to dabbling, "just in case something turns up". Moon got much better results for the money he put into it.

They will now need to succeed in convincing their citizens this has been accomplished. Perhaps he could display his ability to bring a large following of his mind control and then the Russians could patent it for sell. Only the gullible will buy into the plan.

Project MKUltra is the code name of a U.S. government human research operation experimenting in the behavioral engineering of humans through the CIA's Scientific Intelligence Division. The program began in the early 1950s, was officially sanctioned in 1953, was reduced in scope in 1964, further curtailed in 1967 and officially halted in 1973.[1] The program engaged in many illegal activities;[2][3][4] in particular it used unwitting U.S. and Canadian citizens as its test subjects, which led to controversy regarding its legitimacy.[2](p74)[5][6][7] MKUltra used numerous methodologies to manipulate people's mental states and alter brain functions, including the surreptitious administration of drugs (especially LSD) and other chemicals, hypnosis, sensory deprivation, isolation, verbal and sexual abuse, as well as various forms of torture.[8]

The scope of Project MKUltra was broad, with research undertaken at 80 institutions, including 44 colleges and universities, as well as hospitals, prisons and pharmaceutical companies.[9] The CIA operated through these institutions using front organizations, although sometimes top officials at these institutions were aware of the CIA's involvement.[10] As the Supreme Court later noted, MKULTRA was:

concerned with "the research and development of chemical, biological, and radiological materials capable of employment in clandestine operations to control human behavior." The program consisted of some 149 subprojects which the Agency contracted out to various universities, research foundations, and similar institutions. At least 80 institutions and 185 private researchers participated. Because the Agency funded MKULTRA indirectly, many of the participating individuals were unaware that they were dealing with the Agency.[11]
