Israel launches airstrike in Gaza
Source: AP-EXCITE
JERUSALEM (AP) - The Israeli military says it has carried out an airstrike in the Gaza Strip in response to the deadly shooting of an Israeli civilian who was working along the border fence.
The military gave no immediate details on the target of the airstrike Tuesday, and there was no word on casualties.
The military said the Israeli man was shot while he was doing maintenance work on the border fence. Hospital officials later pronounced him dead.
It was the latest in a string of Palestinian attacks on Israeli targets in recent days.

(3,829 posts)That's repulsive. What would Americans do if faced with the same atrocity? Sit and do nothing? of course not.
We're the ones that attacked Iraq for absolutely no reason.

(10,274 posts)Israel carried out airstrikes on the Gaza Strip which killed two people including a young girl on Tuesday after an Israeli civilian was shot dead while fixing security fences on the border of the territory, officials said.
Israeli aircraft bombed Hamas training camps in Khan Younis and al-Bureij, witnesses and officials from the Islamic group which rules Gaza told Reuters. Witnesses said Israeli tanks fired shells east of Gaza city.
A girl, whom they estimated was two-years-old, was killed by shrapnel during the Israeli strike on the Bureij facility, Gaza hospital officials said.
Reuters cited officials saying that she was standing with other family members outside their home near the camp and two of her brothers were wounded.

(10,136 posts)> I did and am disappointed to see another poster come out with the pro-toddler-killing perspective.
I, too, would be disappointed if you saw "another".
Perhaps you are referring to my post #12 where I pointed out that you chose the wrong word ("random" for whatever point you were trying to make.
