Notre Dame to refile health-care lawsuit

Source: South Bend Tribune

University of Notre Dame is refiling a lawsuit Tuesday that challenges the constitutionality of portions of the Affordable Care Act, arguing that the current law violates the university’s right to religious freedom in its provisions regarding coverage for contraceptives.

A federal judge in January dismissed the first lawsuit the university filed on this matter, stating that Notre Dame had no standing to challenge the law because a year-long safe harbor period for employers like Notre Dame meant it wasn’t yet enforced.

Now, the lawsuit says the university has standing in court to challenge the law as it must comply with the parts it deems objectionable in coming months when the employee plan takes affect Jan. 1, 2014.

The complaint also pushes back on compromises the Obama administration put into place for religious employers, namely that the employers could shift the cost of contraceptives to the insurer.

and when I was having problems (female problems of course), I had to take the pill. I had to get a letter from my doctor that I needed them for medical reasons. (I was also trying to get pregnant at the time and was very upset that I had to go on the pill which keeps you from getting pregnant). I had to fight the gawd damn insurance for this and it was back in the early 90s. I hope that they gets lots of publicity for this scam they are forcing on their employees. Not every employee at Notre Dame is Catholic! fuck em.
