Toronto Mayor Rob Ford admits to having bought illegal drugs

Source: CBC News

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford admitted Wednesday that he has purchased illegal drugs in the past two years, just one of many stunning moments at a council meeting in which Ford faced a motion that calls on him to take a leave of absence to deal with personal problems.

... That was just one of many dramatic moments at the meeting.

Things became heated when Coun. Denzil Minnan-Wong — who is sponsoring the council motion that asks Ford to step aside, apologize and co-operate with police — alleged Ford stood in front of him in "a threatening way" as debate on the motion got underway.

"He stood very close to me in a threatening manner," said Minnan-Wong. "It was deliberate."

They have video of him smoking crack and he publicly admits he bought illegal drugs. What else do they need to arrest him?

It's possession that is a crime. Having used or bought drugs in the past is not a crime. If it were, then failing a drug test would be grounds for prison time. While I'm sure the prison industry would love that, unfortunately I don't believe the Mayor can be prosecuted for anything right now.

So, Canada's drug laws are not as Draconian as the U.S.

Can we give him a ticket for smoking indoors?

You now have Oil companies ready to make the keystone pipeline, and a mayor smoking crack, but who is too white to arrest..

You do not need to pick up any more of our bad habits, especially as we are trying to quit them ourselves.
