Joe Manchin backs Employment Non-Discrimination Act

Sen. Joe Manchins support makes it official: All 54 Senate Democratic Caucus members are supporting the Employment Non-Discrimination Act.
The West Virginia Democrat will support the bill aimed at eliminating discrimination toward employees based on their sexual orientation or gender identity, a spokesman said on Wednesday.
Manchin joins both Sens. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) and Mark Pryor (D-Ark.) this week as previously undecided Democrats who will support the legislation. ENDA will likely come to the Senate floor in the next few weeks, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said on Tuesday.
The legislation will get a 55th Democratic booster sometime in November, when Senator-elect Cory Booker replaces Jeff Chiesa (R-N.J.) in the upper chamber. The bill has two Republican co-sponsors, Sens. Susan Collins of Maine and Mark Kirk of Illinois and two additional Republicans supported the bill in committee: Sens. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Orrin Hatch of Utah.
