Anderson Cooper decides GOP strategist is ‘high’ after he says Cruz is ‘having bunny sex’

Source: Raw Story

CNN host Anderson Cooper decided on Tuesday that CNN contributor Alex Castellanos must be “high” after the Republican strategist tried to explain Sen. Ted Cruz’ (R-TX) push to shut down the government by saying “he’s having bunny sex.”

During a late night discussion on the lawn of the Capitol about the shutdown and the debt ceiling, Cooper pointed out that Castellanos agreed with Democratic strategist Paul Begala that Cruz miscalculated with his brinkmanship.

“A friend explained to me today, finally, what Ted Cruz is doing,” Castellanos said. “And I finally understand, he’s having bunny sex.”

“This is the late-night edition of 360,” Cooper gasped.

I don't know if using screwing rabbits was the best example, but what he was trying to suggest is that Cruz engaged in overreach.

“In nature, there are boom and bust cycles,” Castellanos continued. “The snowshoe hare, every ten years, multiplies six fold.”

“Are you high?” Cooper wondered.

“I’m high,” Castellanos admitted. “I wish I was. The snowshoe hare — I thought it’s a marvelous explanation — every ten years, multiplies six fold. Bunnies like sex apparently. But the boom produces a bust. They press their food supply, they invite predators.”

“Right now, Ted Cruz, what’s he’s doing, feels good,” the GOP strategist added. “He’s growing his supporters. It’s leading the Republican Party, I think, into a bust.”

“I think you’re digging a ditch, Alex,” Cooper pointed out.

But Castellanos wasn’t finished offering analogies: “Ted Cruz just drove the entire Republican Party through a car wash in a convertible and everybody got wet but him.”

This is what you get for treating these maniacs as if they have a rational position. You've been doing it for years. Enjoy what you've created.

... with a definition.

A bunny is male who's so inexperienced or so underendowed that his thrusting pace during sexual intercourse mimics that of a rabbit's during intercourse.

I APOLOGIZE FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART for the visions that are now popping up in any reader's head. However, the analysis really was apropos, if crude.

In the case of the rabbit reference, here's what happens.

A condition is created where there is ample food for "bunnies." As a result, the bunnies breed and thrive under these conditions unitil there is a crap-load of bunnies. The ample food supply starts to dwindle.

The large amount of bunnies creates an environment where there is an ample supply of food for bunny predators. As a result, the bunny predators breed and thrive under these conditions until there is a crap-load of bunny predators.

Starvation and excess predators causes the bunny population to dwindle. The predators dwindle for lack of food (and possibly their own predators).

After a while, there is ample food and a lack of predators. The bunny population thrives and the cycle repeats.

In short:

Alex Castellanos, tried to use this as an example of what Ted Cruz did in the sense that he grew Teabilly extremism to the point where the environment could no longer sustain itself.

As I said... It's a weird metaphor, but it works. He'd have been better off using a different one that was more readily understandable.

The "explanation" about the snowshoe hares reminded me of one of Friedman's garbled metaphors, but even more incomprehensible, and without the title of his next book being repeated half a dozen times. (Edit: unless Bunny Sex is the title of his next book. In which case, I'd be interested to see the "customers who bought this also bought" list when it comes out on Amazon).
