POLITICO poll: Government shutdown backlash boosts Terry McAuliffe

Source: POLITICO

Democrat Terry McAuliffe has opened up a significant lead over Republican Ken Cuccinelli in the Virginia governor’s race amid broad public disapproval of the federal government shutdown, according to a POLITICO poll of the 2013 gubernatorial election.

McAuliffe, the former national Democratic Party chairman, is now 9 points ahead of Cuccinelli, the current state attorney general, in a race that also includes Libertarian nominee Robert Sarvis. In the survey, McAuliffe drew support from 44 percent of Virginians versus 35 percent for Cuccinelli and 12 percent for Sarvis.

Four weeks from Election Day, McAuliffe also leads Cuccinelli in a one-on-one contest, 52 percent to 42 percent.

just like the Big Cooch. If he was in Congress he'd be right next to Cruz.

Hopefully this will help us pick up seats in the state legislature.

He was also for Ted Cruz before he was against him.

GOTV. Democrats can win all three races by a respectable margin.

in teabagger skulls, it takes a very very long time to pull those out of their asses. This will nudge them towards expulsion from the rectal cavity but won't succeed.

Good for us.

Glad you're here! I hope you're correct, but I'd have to see a lot more evidence of it. The American voter can be persuaded to vote for all kinds of dumb-ass things, I'm afraid.

With that said, in a two way race Terry defeats the kooch by 10 points in this poll.
Sarvis will take at least 5%(it could be more). That alone will deny the Kooch the Governorship.

It also suggests some of Sarvis support may be dems or dem leaning independents If In 2 man race Mcauliffe still wins.

I heard on the RW radio station last week that the normal big donors to Repub campaigns are making nominal donations to Cooch. Some are giving nothing.
