COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio grand jury investigating whether other laws were broken in the case of a 16-year-old girl raped last year by two high school football players has issued an indictment naming a school information technology employee.

The indictment announced by Attorney General Mike DeWine on Monday charges William Rhinaman of Mingo Junction with tampering with evidence, obstructing justice, obstructing official business and perjury.

DeWine says the charges are related to Rhinaman's job as a Steubenville city schools employee. He would not release specifics on the allegations.

A phone listing for the 53-year-old Rhinaman was not taking calls Monday. Messages were left for the Steubenville schools superintendent.

I've no doubt Mr. Rhinaman played a role, probably in purging the phone messages and photos from the system, but I certainly hope there are others in the pipeline for charges.

but given what was known a year ago, and the number of high school kids involved who were privy to even greater information, you'd think more would have come out of a five-month grand jury investigation.

I won't be surprised if Mr. Rhinaman is the only person ever indicted.

He knew from day one what happened...but football is still KING in Steubenville. I'm from the area..I have friends with kids in the school that knew the situation 1-2 days after it happened via emails..

6. They have to nail at least one person from the school - so millions in settlements can be extracted

The students and their parents don't have deep pockets.

The prosecution needs at least one person from the school district to tap into the millions of dollars in insurance money.

If they cannot find a direct link to the school district, the school district will not be liable.

"This is the first indictment in an ongoing grand jury investigation," DeWine said in a statement Monday. "Our goal remains to uncover the truth, and our investigation continues."

I hope they catch her. She could be dangerous with her pens and bubble gum.

I am sure they will find ways to blame anyone but the coach, who knew about the rape long before most everyone else. After all, it took them five months to come up with this one. It reminds me of when the military hands out a court martials to enlisted soldiers for things officers told them to do.
