Egypt's Brotherhood compares military rule to Hitler's Third Reich

Source: Haaretz

Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood on Thursday sharply criticized the military for ousting the country's Islamist president, comparing its rule to that of Adolf Hitler or Roman emperor Nero — remarks likely to stoke tensions ahead of rival rallies by supporters and opponents of the former leader.

The criticism was particularly stinging, even by Brotherhood standards. The group has delivered successive anti-military pronouncements in the three months since Mohammed Morsi, Egypt's first freely elected president and one of the group's longtime leaders, was toppled in a popularly-backed military coup.

Since Morsi's July 3 ouster, the country's military-backed government has moved against the Brotherhood, banning the group, seizing its assets and arresting hundreds of its supporters.

The rival rallies on Sunday — both planned in Cairo's central Tahrir Square — carry the potential for violent clashes between Morsi's Islamist supporters and Egyptians who back the military.

Oh, that was NOT the Moslem Brotherhood, but the new Miltiary Dictators. The Moslem Brotherhood did not even close down any media hositle to them (But the Nazis and Egpytian Military did). The Moslem brotherhood did not set up any concentration camps (as did the Nazis and the Eygptian Miitary). The Moslem Brotherhood did not "Nights of Long Knived" as did the Nazis and from reports from Egypt the Egyptian Military.

Sorry, in many ways the Moslem Brotherhood is like the German Communist Party in 1932, almost as powerful as the Nazis, but unwilling to shed blood thus they lost to the Nazi (and the Egyptian Military) who are willing to shed the blood of people who oppose them (The Communists in 1932 and 1933, the Moslem Brother hood in Egypt today).

Sorry, if you look into the DETAILS, it is the Egyptian Military who are the more Nazi in practice then the Moslem Brotherhood ever was.

The Society's official position was that Egypt should refrain from participating in the Second World War. However, in fact it was involved in strong ties to the Nazis. These links began during the 1930s and were close during the Second World War, involving agitation against the British, espionage and sabotage, as well as support for terrorist activities orchestrated by Haj Amin el-Hussaini in British Mandate Palestine, as a wide range of declassified documents from the British, American and Nazi German governmental archives, as well as from personal accounts and memoirs from that period, confirm. Reflecting this connection the Muslim Brotherhood also disseminated Hitler's Mein Kampf and The Protocols of the Elders of Zion widely in Arab translations, helping to deepen and extend already existing hostile views about Jews and Western societies generally.

Did the Moslem Brotherhood impose Sharia law on Egypt? No that was Sadat and then Murabek, and it is something the Egyptian Military has MANTAINED. Did the Moslem Brotherhood impose the veil on women? No. Did they impose restrictions on Converting from Islam? No, that restriction goes back to the Kings of Egypt that no one since ever propose to change. Did they impose any legal restrictions on Christians? No, the attacks on Christians INCREASED after the coup, while blamed on the Moslem Brotherhood it appears to be more the Saudi Arabia Supported Salafists (who support the Coup).

What has the Miltiary done? It has BANNED freedom of the Press (something Mursi did not even proposed), the Military has banned Freedom of Assembly and Speech (again something Mursi ddi not do). The Military has reinstated a police known to not only beat up people but corrupt to the core (again Something Mursi refused to do).

What caused Mursi to be overthrown? Mursi did start an attack on the Military leadership AND the Egyptian Supreme Court. Mursi only went after the Court after the Court kept ruling elections that the Moslem Brotherhood were illegal for the simple reason the Moslem Brotherhood kept winning them.

Sorry, the Moslem Brotherhood may be religious fanatics, but they also believed in Freedom of Speech, Assembly and the Press. The Moslem Brotherhood also tolerated open opposition and respected the results of elections (Yes, the Moslem Brotherhood WON those elections, but they made no movement to remove the opposition or to silence the opposition).

Sorry, give me Relgious Fanatics that support Freedom of Speech, Assembly, Religion and the Press, over a Military that opposes all four freedoms.

The Brotherhood was consolidating power and would have likely failed to have elections once they had ALL the power. It's what they've been after for years. It's like you think they sprung up overnight in the chaos of the Arab Spring. No, they've been around for a long time and have made their plans quite clear. Anywhere religious fanatics are in power is a paradise for men and a DISASTER for women. Give me the military.

13. Then you are a fascist.

Sorry, but that's how it is. I'm an atheist, but I'd take a legitimately elected religious fanatic (which is pushing things very far in the case of the Muslim Brotherhood) over seizure of government by the force of military establishment any day.

Unelected military 'governments' (in other words, warlords) are on one side or the other of most of the world's wars. They are almost uniformly brutal in the face of opposition (and how else would one expect a military to keep power?), and generally the heads of the military get extremely wealthy through corruption. It's very, very hard for a nation to free itself from military rule. Elected religious fanatics, if they are not popular, get voted out (Morsi wouldn't have had a second term). Then they get a job on Fox News. Oh - sorry, this is about Egypt, isn't it.

Women always know what's in store for them when religious fanatics are involved. I couldn't care less what you call me but I do think you really need to look up the definition of fascism because it doesn't mean what you obviously think it does.

12. uhm no, we aint gonna get deceived by brotherhoods antics ever again

I spend a year in a Muslim Brotherhood school, they arent only close to Nazis, but they are the basic school for terrorism and political Islam. I have read many of their books and magazines for years in my adolescence and I know what I am talking about.
oh and happyslug, You can go and spend your life in a country ruled by Islamists since you seem to love them so much! Stop being a fool and get informed, Brotherhoods have their famous "six stages" of conquering the world, the last of which is "commanding the world" .. they want to command the world cause they are 'true believers' and we people who aint convinced by their ideas are 'worthless infidels' who need to be schooled and commanded or killed! Yeah they are NOT close to Nazis!!
BTW Women took the right to vote in 1956 after Nasser signed the petition given to him by women, Brotherhoods tried to kill Nasser for his progressive ideas including his refusal to force dress code or shutting down cinemas.
That man the El Banna -the one who formed brotherhoods- didnt only disapprove women voting, but even working as a lawyer, saying it's against God will and women rule in life!
Brotherhoods are willing to do any thing, and say every lie and deceive every person in the whole world to rule Egypt, but we don't care cause WE EGYPTIANS THROW THEM OUT OF OUR HISTORY IN JUNE 30.. We stormed the streets, and when people say a coup I just LAUGH, What coup? I was in the streets in June 30, people were in the streets andif it was a coup it was the most popular coup then! It was one of the best days in Egypt cause we finally were able to say NO to them loud and clear after decades of terrorism, most of us have hidden our real thoughts inside our hearts cause we were afraid of being called infidels, we were deeply terrorized, and then out of no where we stormed the streets to send them behind the sun hihi
And do you know what was the reaction for ousting Morsi? They killed young cops they killed border soldiers they burnt churches and terrorized Christians in the Egyptian south.
Brotherhoods agenda isn't only a backward one, it's also totally against Egypt as a country, we are poor and we have many problems but we aint never gonna replace our country and its history, with their terrorist backward ideas, or allow them to rule our country NEVERRRRRR
We dont believe Brotherhoods they have 20 tongues they mask their real intentions when they are weak, but we know it very well, and we aint deceived by their antics any more, we dont want to hate our army, we dont want to replace our country Egypt with their hate and terrorism, and we dont care what brotherhoods say cause they are liars and only liars
We are relaxed they are gone.. well it has been their story for 85 years, They were labeled a terrorist organization even before 1952, during the Royal time, for political assassinations.. and when people loved Nasser during the 60s Sayed Qutb "father of terrorism" declared Egyptians as an infidel community and tried to make major terrorist attacks in Egypt. But the difference now is that after January 25 we the people revolted against them.. look they can deceive for a while but it never work cause you will see their real faces one day and it aint a face that you gonna adore!
We want progress we dont want to be a backward country, we want to build a modern country, there are many obstacles including us Egyptians we need to change a lot a lot a lot , even our streets are full of rubbish.. thats one of the reasons we revolted against Brotherhoods, we revolted against a global terrorist organization that was formed in Egypt from within us, and we ve left this evil seed to grow and grow for years; turning our beloved country to chaos, teaching our children how to hate their neighbors cause they have a different religion, making the general Egyptian who was famous for his tolerance a terrorist, etc.. We just needed to say NO after decades of not taking any responsibility..

We just need to be back to progress, enough of this sh!t that is political religion.

And the Egyptian mentality in general is not easy to understand right now, we are changing so fast, we act as a teenager who keeps trying stuff till he finds his true self..

that your nation is incapable of surviving even a single legitimate election without calling on the military to undo it. You never were in a state of 'progress,' as you put it. As Americans, we have been living with foolish decisions made by voting citizens since our founding - we have religious and ideological fanatics in high office all the time. However, the day we rise up to ask the military to take charge is the day we are no longer citizens - then we are subjects.

You had a civil war to remove slavery, slavery wasn't an election game. Then you decided to back off.
Blacks that you brought from Africa to America weren't allowed to vote for decades til they stormed the streets. Your intelligence spy on you way more than the North Korean government do, you keep being rich by making wars on other countries, during the cold war communists were targeted in US, and finally the two parties in your country are shutting down the government making thousands of people unemployed cause they are fighting over a health care reform.

We don't need a US approval to end terrorism in Egypt, or to do the change we have to do.

I agree that Egypt needs lots of change to even take the first step to progress, and clearly being ruled by backwards isnt the right way.

We are in a transitional period, and it will take time till we have a stable regime.
