Ted Cruz blasted by angry GOP colleagues
Source: Politico
Ted Cruz faced a barrage of hostile questions Wednesday from angry GOP senators, who lashed the Texas tea party freshman for helping prompt a government shutdown crisis without a strategy to end it.
At a closed-door lunch meeting in the Senates Mansfield Room, Republican after Republican pressed Cruz to explain how he would propose to end the bitter budget impasse with Democrats, according to senators who attended the meeting. A defensive Cruz had no clear plan to force an end to the shutdown or explain how he would defund Obamacare, as he has demanded all along, sources said.
Things got particularly heated when Cruz was asked point-blank if he would renounce attacks waged on GOP senators by the Senate Conservatives Fund, an outside group that has aligned itself closely with the Texas senator.
Cruzs response: I will not, according to an attendee.

(5,342 posts)I've seen calls by a Tea Party doll on FB to take our R Senator out of office. That's the Tea Party's next plan; to get rid of the R's who voted to keep America up and running by approving a budget. I hope they remember they created this monster.

I can think of a few things that need to happen here, beyond just prosecuting these pukes, like questioning Cruz's allegiance and citizenship (as mentioned above) and somehow getting the DOJ to banish the TP crowd as a political player due to their penchant for destroying the country... like domestic taerrists or something. Honestly. I am not sure what can be done but something with teeth and permanence.

(22,000 posts)They should drag him into the men's restroom put his head in a toilet and flush it about a half dozen times.

(31,849 posts)that is exactly why he is the way he is ... too many toilet flushes in his elementary, middle and high school years.
I also suspect that had cruz been born 10-15 years later, we'd have read about him as having perpetrated a columbine style event.

(31,849 posts)I think cruz DOES have a plan ... He's just not ready to let the cat out the bag because he doesn't trust the gop to not derail it before he springs it.
But I also think that his plan won't work and the gop won't like it and that's why it won't work.
