House leadership says it still has options to avoid government shutdown

Source: Fox News

A House Republican leader said Sunday the chamber has several last-minute options to avoid a government shutdown should the Senate reject a temporary spending bill the House passed early Sunday morning that includes a one-year delay for ObamaCare.

House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy stuck with House leadership’s insistence that its proposal can indeed pass in the Democrat-controlled Senate, but acknowledged having an alternative plan.

“You assume they won’t vote for it. Let’s have that debate,” the California Republican told “Fox News Sunday.” But “we have other options for the Senate to look at.”

The government would technically run out of money Monday night should Congress fail to pass a temporary spending bill, resulting in a partial government shutdown that would begin with hundreds of thousands of government workers likely being sent home from work without pay.

FULL story at link.

World financial markets are not going to like this,
and it may not end well for any political party. That's
their whole idea, this is Birtherism, Social Issues, and Monica rolled
into one financial quagmire to try and tar and feather that man
in the White House.

The GOP refuses to acknowledge that Obama is the President, and
they didn't win the 2012 election. Finger pointing and the issue of
legitimacy is what's going on here.

In politics, there's doing what's right, doing what's popular, and then
there is doing what's narrow self-interest. This is the latter combined
with the Tyranny of the Minority. They don't even believe in democracy,
or a democratic republic. Business fascism is more like it.

That will keep the issue in the headlines (or so the Republicans think/hope).

I don't think that is going to work the way Republicans think it will. Americans are going to get sick of the terrible twos Republican tantrums very soon.

Time to graduate to three-years-old, Tea-Baggers. Time to get just a little rational and gain just a little self-control.

Democrats have to live with the fact that we lost the majority on the Supreme Court.

Now, Republicans have to live with the fact that they lost on healthcare so far.

That's how democracy works. You win some. You lose some. It's the debate that is important.

Republicans: i personally invite all of of you to come and live in the real world. There isn't any other world outside of your own imagination. In the real world, the ACA has been enacted, tweaked by the Supreme Court, partially implemented and as now ready for final and full implementation.

Let's talk about it in a couple of years. OK.

Until then, find some other issues you would like to work on. Leave the ACA alone for now.

Pure and simple. The kidnappers will be forced to kill the hostage if the ransom isn't paid.

Egg Zac LEE right! They are just like kidnappers who take a child from its
home and then blame the child's family for letting their daughter play in the
front yard.

Holding the full faith and credit of the United States hostage and negotiating with the threat of a downfall of our economy, if not the world's economy is NOT governance, it is tyranny.

What's worse is - the TeaPublicans know it and they just don't care.

And Obama said he'd be willing to sit down and discuss other healthcare options if they have ideas but not related to The budget.

So of course their response is he refuses to sit down and discuss the budget.

Anything else is mere extortion and economic terrorism, by a bunch which are the most un-American crew I have seen in my m: traitors and wreckers the lot of them.
