Obama Vows to Veto House CR

Source: Roll Call

President Barack Obama would veto the House spending bill that would defund Obamacare, the White House said Thursday in a Statement of Administration Policy.

“The Administration strongly opposes House passage of H.J. Res. 59, making continuing appropriations for fiscal year 2014 and for other purposes, because it advances a narrow ideological agenda that threatens our economy and the interests of the middle class,” the Office of Management and Budget said in the statement.

“The Resolution would defund the Affordable Care Act, denying millions of hard-working middle class families the security of affordable health coverage.

“If the President were presented with H.J. Res. 59, he would veto the bill.”

That will get their attention, they way it did last spring. And this time, don't find a way to "exempt" this from the shutdown the way they did with the sequestering.

Way to man-up, Mr. President!

Take them on and they will fold. Hell, they've already hinted that this is only their "opening position." Lets see what their second, third or fourth "position" will be before agreeing to any of their crap.

as a result? These nutjobs don't learn anything from experience, do they?

If they shut down the government again, they might very well lose the House again come 2014.
People get tired of their BS.

but, things have changed, starting with social media and 24 hours news spread that, really, prevent even sane members of congress to reach some kind of agreement.

As Chuck Todd remarked few days ago - shutting the government, not negotiating with the President will get them applause in their district. That is, I suppose, until their constituents don't get their SS and disability checks. Agreeing with him will get them a primary opponent who is even nuttier than they are.
