Road rage-related shootout leaves two dead in Ionia, police say

Source: MLive

IONIA, MI - Two men died Wednesday, Sept. 18, in a shootout that stemmed from a road rage confrontation, Ionia police said.

Initial investigation shows the Ionia men, ages 43 and 56, pulled into the car wash parking lot after a road rage incident. They exited their vehicles and eventually drew handguns and exchanged fire, police said. It wasn't clear what the two men were arguing about.

Life EMS transported the men to Sparrow Ionia Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Police said both men, whose identities have not been released, held permits to carry concealed weapons.

Thank goodness they had permits to carry or something terrible might have happened.

Sigh

If they kill each other off, we're all better for it. IMO. Two names crossed off the NRA donations list.

I have NO sympathy for gun nuts who kill each other. I just wish it would happen like this more often. No innocent people got shot, just the 2 gun nuts who shot each other.

of this whole messed up situation. Because most gun owners won't. Guns turn a disagreement into a potentially deadly encounter. And in this case, it ended up with both parties dead. Simply because gun owners refuse to find legitimate means of curtailing the proliferation of guns in public, these two will get very little sympathy and instead will be made into a joke, regardless of who they were as people. Had they not had guns, it probably would have been nothing more than a scuffle between them, possibly an arrest. Now their families are both making funeral arrangements. Tragic and completely avoidable but for the misguided belief some have that having a gun makes one safer (or worse, makes one "cool&quot .

I suppose both these men had families and children.

They were sacrificed to the stupidity of gun culture.

Two fucking idiots shooting at each other in a parking lot. For nothing.
