(6,996 posts)The interviews themselves are fascinating to watch but the movie provides a behind the scenes look at both Richard Nixon and David Frost.

(22,271 posts)from my past. As everyone else here has said, his Nixon interviews (the only interview Nixon did after his resignation) was amazing. He kept trying to get Nixon to apologize to the nation and Nixon consistently refused to do it.

I came in at the time of The Frost Report, which was the most wonderfully funny show I'd ever seen.
Then came his early interview program, The Frost Programme. I'm sure nobody who ever saw those shows could ever forget the way he trapped some thoroughly nasty people into self-incrimination. Long before the Nixon interview, he was awesome.
I was just surprised that he wasn't older than 74 - I thought he must be in his eighties. He would have been extremely young when he started his career.
Every would-be interviewer should be made to sit down and watch every interview Frost ever did, and learn from the master.

(113,306 posts)He worked closely with a number of charities over the years, including Alzheimer's Research Trust, the Motor Neurone Disease Association and health charity Wellbeing of Women.
The latter's chairman, Sir Victor Blank, said: "It's a sad day and David's tremendous contribution over the last half century to television will be honoured.
"David was also a marvellous husband, father and friend, but not often recognised is the time, generosity and support he gave to so many charities, not least the 25 years he has spent helping Wellbeing of Women."

Nixon, I don't want to look at or think about. But Frost was a good journalist.
