Teen Held Sex Slave and Called FBI Daily, Agent Says
Source: ABC News
A New York teenager who allegedly kidnapped a woman and held her as a sex slave for more than two weeks called the FBI almost daily during the woman's captivity to tell them he was involved in sex trafficking and had recently "recruited" a woman, according to court documents.
Despite his calls to the FBI, the woman escaped on her own when she faked an asthma attack and was taken to a hospital.
The suspect then called the FBI again to ask for help in locating her, telling an agent he had developed feelings for her.
The allegations and the bizarre string of phone calls are detailed in an affidavit filed in a federal court on July 9 by FBI Agent Barry Crouch, who said he received most of the phone calls from the suspect.

Let's see..teen who kidnapped woman and held her as a sex slave for two weeks called the FBI daily to report himself but they did NOTHING!!
That poor woman. I can't imagine what she must be going through.
IMO one lesson in this: no matter how much spying, despite the billions spent, despite criminals calling themselves into the FBI --- real intelligence remains an oxymoron with them.

(2,606 posts)agencies won't be able to do their jobs because they are too busy "watching".
I believe the next predictable result will be an interagency "war" with the NSA trying to out spy the CIA and FBI. Should be quite amusing depending on how much "leaks" out.

It is just too much data. They have to be specifically looking at you to get anything from it. The chances of that are also very small.
You are almost guaranteed continued anonymity because the volume of data is just so large there's no real way to get anything from it unless you are specifically looking at one individual.
They cant be bothered when people are calling in confessing and people are worried about them picking their calls out of the billions made every day. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

(21,043 posts)is a bit like throwing a party for 500 and asking one person to keep track of what everyone there is talking about. The scary thing is that since they are recording everyone and anyone, it lends itself to doing harm. Anyone at the NSA can suddenly take it out on anybody they desire, and voila, they have all their info recorded and monitored.

(8,434 posts)"they" monitor our electronic communications in "some" way to prevent terrorism, yet this person repeatedly calls the FBI to inform them of an ongoing crime.
