WHO delays call on publishing controversial H5N1 work

The World Health Organization has delayed a decision about whether controversial research into the H5N1 bird flu virus should be published.

It had been looking at how the work could be released while guarding against its abuse by bioterrorists.

But a meeting in Geneva decided more discussions were needed to see if it could be possible to publish in full.

One of the two journals which want to publish has already agreed to wait for talks to be complete.

1. As if any potential bioterrorists don't already have access to all the information they need...

I suspect that something else entirely is behind the coverup, perhaps the fact that the reason they're so afraid of this information's use by bioterrorists is that the information was explicitly designed for use by OUR bioterrorists.

It is the bird flu. It isn't like they can't just find a damned bird with the flu.
