First on CNN: Perry To Announce Political Future On Monday

Source: CNN Politics

Rick Perry is inviting close friends and supporters to an event next Monday in San Antonio where he is expected to announce if he plans to seek an unprecedented fourth full term as Texas governor, CNN has learned.

Perry "will be making an announcement around mid-day in San Antonio concerning his exciting future plans," according to a "Save the Date" email obtained Tuesday by CNN. The announcement comes as Perry finds himself at the center of a high-profile legislative fight over abortion rights in his state.

Perry has long said he will make a decision about his political future after the conclusion of this year's legislative session, but because Democrats blocked the abortion measure with an attention-grabbing filibuster by state Sen. Wendy Davis last week, the governor was forced to call another session to tackle that issue and others.

We've always known that the Governor of Texas by constitutional authority is the weakest Executive Office of all the 50 states in the United States and is essentially a cheerleader for the state which is why GWB was so successful in that role in spite of his intellect and lack of natural curiosity. Perry shares the same lack of intellect as the former president, but without GWBs sincerity and compassionate conservative charm. Say what you would about GWB, but there was something about his naivete that simpleness that appealed to the public at large back in 2000. Having a former president as his father, and seemingly a simple, unambitious, married father of two, former alcoholic, and recent convert to christianity, he had a certain charm that allowed half the nation to rally behind him.

Perry, no such luck. America is no longer naive to the extent that they would trust the nation's wealth, resources and military might to another frat boy simpleton. Unlike GWB, when you see Perry, not only do you see a fool, but a dangerous fool. No longer would the electorate allow a fool who obviously knows nothing, to be a part of a puppet regime, with God knows who running the nation.

Fool the American public once, shame on you. Fool them twice, uh, you can't fool them again.

Perry will never be elected president, but lets hope he runs and wins his party's nomination. America loves a train wreck and that's what the GOP has become. Nothing would be more satisfying than watching Perry drive the final stake through the GOP's heart.

Oh if this asshole would just go away...

growing percent of minorities in Texas and the super-charged recent performances of the Democrats in Texas, I think we can all take a pretty good guess at what Rick Perry's "political future" will be -- and it rhymes with "dustbin of history".

I would love to get rid of this prick.

But I would also love to see him run again and get his ass handed to him - something that I do believe is at least a possibility this next time around.

1) He will pass the torch to George PEE Shrub.
2) He will cash out and cash in on the medical tourism industry (alternative medical surgeries without state interference/regulation).
3) He will run. He just can't find another clown car so thrilling. And with the permission of the 6% of the TX population who actually vote and have a stranglehold on the whole state.
