Paris skinheads leave far-left activist brain-dead

A GROUP of skinheads attacked a French far-left activist in the heart of Paris’ shopping district, leaving the young man brain-dead in the hospital Thursday, officials said, in an attack that raised fears of increased far-right violence.

Political tensions are high in France after months of protests against legalizing gay marriage that sometimes ended with troublemakers from the extreme right clashing with police.

Interior Minister Manuel Valls said a fight broke out Wednesday evening between two groups of young people in a pedestrian street just steps away from the famous Printemps department store. At one point, the 19-year-old leftist was beaten by several skinheads, according to Valls, a widely respected, center-leaning member of President Francois Hollande’s Socialist government.

Four suspects, aged 20 to 37, were arrested on Thursday, according to Agnes Thibault-Lecuivre, spokeswoman for the Paris prosecutor’s office.

13. Good question. The fabled 'working class' has a long history of turning on each other.

Those in a certain economic class are not like minded, no more than any other one. They are as easily driven by propaganda as anyone else. In this case, it's inferred that it was right wing propaganda.

And workers are sadly, willing to kill each other. Some segments of the working class go into professions killing animals or even people. It's a job that they have taken to as they did not have opportunites to do upper class work. And the upper class doesn't want the competition, so they are trapped.

The fact that the higher classes in society may benefit from this is inevitable, but possibly irrevelant. Propaganda is not always the product of the 1% or religion, but it often is, which makes it doubly evil. In that case, it is relevant, they were incited by the powerful to protect the rich, as they consider them their sponsors in the future. Or they are just nihilists, IDK.

The desire to kill those thought to be a threat to one's own livelihood, prosperity or safety is hardwired. I grieve the loss of this young man's spirit to humanity and the ideals he believed in.

And I hope his killers don't get away with this crime. I don't know anything about the legal system in France, or whatever biases they have. Absolutely nothing.

The killing of a teenage anti-fascist militant after an altercation with far-right skinheads in early June prompted fears of a resurgence of far-right violence. But the evidence suggests the leftists may have been the aggressors.

The death of a leftist militant at the hands of a skinhead gang in Paris on June 5 may not have been a clear-cut case of far-right aggression, following a report on CCTV footage of the event in which the leftist militant is seen throwing the first punch.

Subsequent details from the police investigation suggest that victim Clément Méric, 18, and his fellow “Antifas” [anti-fascists] may even have been targeting the skinhead who is now being investigated for involuntary manslaughter.

Méric (pictured) sustained fatal injuries following a verbal altercation with the skinheads at a private sale of British-branded clothes – particularly Fred Perry, Barbour and Ben Sherman – favoured by French far-right and leftist militants alike.

and this young mans death is a tragedy, but maybe him and his cohorts shouldn't have initially confronted them and, as it looks now, thrown the first punch.
