NBA Center Announces He is Gay

Source: USA Today Sports

For months there has been speculation as to when the first active player in the four major professional sports would publicly come out of the closet. Today is that day.

Free agent center Jason Collins, an 12-year NBA veteran, who played for the Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards this past season, declared in a Sports Illustrated cover story that he’s “a 34-year-old NBA center. I’m black. And I’m gay.”

Here are five quotes from the first-person profile that detail Collins’ experience and why he decided to make the announcement now.

can he shoot? Can he handle pressure? How well does he work with his team?

Other than that, who gives a shit? Oh, wait... apparently it does matter to a bunch of self-righteous dipshits who have no business in his bedroom.

I'll give him the same advice I give all rich athletes (gay or straight): If you run around with lots of groupies or random skanks, just don't be a fool and wrap your tool.

I've been saying this for years. Unless rhet are a superstar player, Whoever comes out first and is still active will make more money from secondary income than primary.

Whoever is second and third ...... yawn

But good for him. He's pretty old so it looks like his playing career is over, but he's about to make $ from books and other stuff.

about what is just a personal attribute that has no bearing on them. Some people just live to hate and try to scapegoat. The rest of us should not have to put up with those games.
