THE EIGHT-year-old boy killed in yesterdays Boston marathon explosions has been named as Martin Richard.
Martin is thought to have been waiting near the finish line to greet his father, who had been running in the race. His mother Denis was hospitalised with grievous injuries, according to The Times, and underwent surgery for a brain injury late on Monday night.
Martins six-year-old sister, whose name has not been made public, was reported to have lost a leg in the blast, said reports on local TV station WHDH.
The condition of the childrens father William has not been released, but a third child was reportedly unharmed in the bombing.

(135,425 posts)I have family that live not far from there. This is a very sad situation. The little boy went to hug his father as he finished his race, then ran back to his mother and was hit.
