South Korea Says North’s Missile Launch May Be Imminent

Source: Agence France-Presse

A top South Korean security official said Sunday that North Korea may test-launch a missile this week, as the United States delayed its own missile test due to soaring tensions on the peninsula.

Kim Jang-Soo, chief national security adviser to President Park Geun-Hye, said a test-launch or other provocation could come before or after Wednesday, the date by which the North has suggested that diplomats leave Pyongyang.

North Korea, incensed by UN sanctions following its nuclear and missile tests and by South Korean-US military drills, has issued a series of apocalyptic threats of nuclear war in recent weeks.

It has also reportedly loaded two medium-range missiles on mobile launchers and hidden them in underground facilities near its east coast, raising speculation it is preparing for a provocative launch.

Good grief. There must be a 1000 more guns and missiles pointed right back at him--not to mention the dozen bombers flying over his head with a full load to drop.

is it's largest trading partner involved in such a thing.

Finally having US bases along it's border where NK used to be is the last thing it wants.

There is a good chance China will step in.

They'll just do their thing, and we'll all laugh as the missile blows up on the launch pad.

The fact that they're test firing a missile makes me think that North Korea is even less likely to do some bold military action (not that I thought they were in the first place).

..... blow up the missile on the launch pad. N. Korea does have some atom bombs
and it might be too big of a risk to let a possible nuclear weapon go for a ride on
N. Korean missile.

Send over Michael Jordan .... Kim is a big fan of his and see if that might come things
down ...... Hey it worked w/ping pong why not send over some old NBA players
with some food and see if that could get to little Kim.

If Kim sets that missile off it might get real dirty real fast.

The military probably has satellites focused on where their missiles are, and a station where a trooper with a button is waiting to launch one of our own missiles to slam into the launch sites within a minute.

One of my friends is stationed in SK. He's not too worried.

.... any launch pad w/in minutes. And no doubt we have satellites in geosynchronous
orbit above N. Korea right now. Little Kim is really pushing his luck but that does not
mean that the South would get off free of any damage if war breaks out.

I hope we can just send them some food in order to help the starving and to keep anything
stupid from happening.
