Former GOP Rep. Joe Walsh: The American people are ‘stupid’ and ‘lazy’
By Eric W. Dolan
Monday, March 11, 2013 17:40 EDT

Former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL), a tea party favorite, said Sunday that Americans were embracing big government because they had grown stupid and lazy.

At a townhall meeting to promote his new organization, Walsh said the country was currently in a war between the proponents of big government and the proponents of freedom.

“I believe that not since the civil war has this country shaken like it is shaking now,” he said. “And I believe that not since the civil war is this country prepared to crack like it was prepared to crack in the civil war. That was a fight about freedom, slavery. We are fighting now about freedom.”

Walsh explained that he hoped to gather 100,000 people in Illinois to support tea party candidates. His organization, the Freedom Movement, intends to fight back against groups like the Conservative Victory Project, which plans to defeat what it sees as unelectable tea party candidates in GOP primary races.

That's why the South revolted. Because the North was imposing on their freedoms.

Republickers want freedom as well: The freedom for corporations and exorbitantly wealthy people to virtually enslave the rest of us.

Republickers don't give a shit about freedom. Only the freedom to own guns and accumulate the biggest pile of money however they can. I no other respects do they care about freedom.

Is that this current Republican party wants to reverse what the Republicans of the 1860's did, with the only difference being that the corporations will become the slave masters, the Republicans will become the overseers, and those of us who survive their "Stalinist" style purges will become the slaves?

Would that be a fair definition?

I am an American and FLAMING liberal. Let's see how I have "milked the system".

(1) With the help of my parents and my own summer jobs, etc. I paid for my undergraduate and graduate degrees without grants or student loans

(2) I have been gainfully employed since 1978 without ever being unemployed or on public assistance

(3) I work on average 50+ hours a week and sneak in work even on vacations

(4) I would match my intelligence against his any day. I am not a brainiac but am far from being stupid

(5) I only take the standard deduction and therefore contribute a significantly higher percentage of my income to federal and state governments that most "moochers" such as those that have government subsidize their home purchases.

Note: I support the home interest tax deduction up to a certain point but needed to be clear that I am not even taking advantage of that dedication.

So, Joe, let's meet somewhere. I will figuratively duke it out with you any day, any where, with both hands tied behind me. I will still come out the victor because you are are sniveling petulant child.

Like Michelle Malkin, Anne Coultier, rush limpballs, vannity, etc.....forget it. NOT WORTH posting their nonsense drivel. That is exactly WHY they say their outlandish bull shit; so you'll post it and we can all read it, and they continue to be relevant. They are NOT.

You are the one that is stupid and lazy!

As a Rep. you collected a hefty salary for "working" less than half the year. Then you cried cried cried, that you were to poor to pay child support to your ex wife. For the safety and well being of the children that you fathered, you became a delinquent dad. You abandonded your children. Family values? Oh I think not.

Do not dare to condesend to us. You are nothing, you are a boil on the butt of hard working American's. We are not the "takers" Joe, you and your party are!

41. Walsh is a little off on his analysis
Mon Mar 11, 2013, 09:32 PM
Mar 2013

He is correct that the people are often ignorant and he is correct that they are not as motivated politically as they should be. The key thing is it is the ignorance welcomed and spread by Teaparty types, Fox News, and other republicans in order to hide their obedience to big corporate donors that is so impossible for most of the country to believe that has led to the lack of political involvement on behalf of Walsh and other republicans.
Walsh will really enjoyy the next 4 years if he wants activism only. But I fear most of the activism is already coming from Progressives who rightly challenge Obama's centrist inclinations. Walsh will get action, not lazioness. The problem for he and the other corrupt politicians that dominate his party is that as ignorance is removed , the people become more and more progressive and as they become more and more progressive they begin to act out of the compassion developed through their empathy. Walsh has a lot to learn and calling voters stupid and lazy sure indicates a lack of understanding. Bye Bye Joe. Cursing your own team is not a good idea.

Americans as a whole, however, are lazy, stupid, and easily scared.
