Detective in Pistorius Case Faces Charges.

Source: nyt/ap

South African police say the lead investigator in the case against Olympian Oscar Pistorius faces attempted murder charges in an October 2011 shooting.

Police Brig. Neville Malila said Thursday that detective Hilton Botha is scheduled to appear in court in May on seven counts of attempted murder. Malila says Botha and two other police officers fired shots while trying to stop a minivan in the incident.

On Wednesday, the prosecution case against Pistorius began to unravel with revelations of a series of police blunders and Botha's admission that authorities have no evidence challenging the double-amputee Olympian's claim he killed his girlfriend accidentally. Pistorius faces a charge of premeditated murder.

that Pistorius did it on purpose?

Some people just stick to their pet theories till the end.

Do you even know the angle in which the bullets were fired and how this angle proves that Pistorius was wearing or was not wearing his prosthetic legs? Oh no, you do not know the angle but hey! you bet the angle incriminates Pistorius because...he's evil!

What you are doing is simply repeating the assertion that the prosecution said the angle was "high" without citing angle numbers and how they prove the shots were fired from X or Y distance.

5 feet is how far the prosecution says Pistorius was.

How high?

What I said: "I cant imagine how the family of Reeva is feeling"....

I cant....I have never lost a child especially in a senseless gun violence death (do you want argue now about whether this was a sensible death?)

"their daughter is dead"....

Fact: She is - and now buried...

"Reeva was killed by a National Hero"....

Fact #1: She was killed.
Fact #2: By Oscar Pistorius (he has even said he shot the pistol that killed her).
Fact #3: Oscar is considered a National Hero in South Africa. Even if never officially declared by the government or awarded this title.

..."who may now get released"....

Fact: He may get released on bail and possibly charges lessened or dropped....

...."and the truth to be buried because of corrupt police and a bungled investigation"...

Fact#1: there are many problems in law enforcement in the various South African police agencies including corruption.

Fact #2: The lead investigator on the case is being charged with MURDER in a separate case and this alone could bring the defense to question any of the findings and have them thrown out based on the credibility of the investigator and his collection of evidence alone.

Fact #3: Any truth, even any that might shed light and real answers on her killing may "get buried" or never known because of a bungled investigation and shoddy evidence collection.

What did I say in my original reply in this post that made you go on the attack and PRESUME my "Pet Theories" that he murdered her with pre-meditation without his Prosthetic legs or that he is "evil"????

Take a chill pill Mason Kennedy.....stop presuming, assuming and attacking people....get facts. Be a thinker.

Little side note: FYI- I had the pleasure of meeting Oscar this summer during the games and after his victories... He was a very "nice" and un-evil guy....he was talking to myself and a friend who is a Wharton Business School professor and then he suddenly got called away to people wanting to talk to him. Hours later at the party, he comes deliberately over to us and very very apologetic for rudely disappearing in the conversation and emphasizing he wants to really talk (with my friend). In any event, I dont know what happened that Valentine's night other than a girl with her future bright ahead is dead, her family devastated and Oscar has gone from hero to zero, even if he is innocent of pre-meditated murder or simply gets off due to a bad investigation.
