PPP: 67 Percent Of SOTU Viewers Approve Of Obama’s Speech

Source: TPM

The overwhelming majority of those who tuned in to the State of the Union address approved of the speech delivered by President Barack Obama, according to the findings of a snap poll that was released Wednesday.

The automated survey, conducted Tuesday night by Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling on behalf of the National Resources Defense Council, showed that 67 percent of those who said they watched the State of the Union approved of Obama's speech while 33 percent disapproved. Seventy-two percent of women and 62 percent of men said they approved of the address.

I go there frequently and read great stuff but this phrase they use each time should have been retired long ago but certainly after the 2012 races in November. PPP are as neutral at this point as anybody is these days and they are also accurate. If that is Democratic-leaning, well, OK but...

That said that 53% strongly approved Obama's SOTU speech and another 24% approved the speech. Only 22% disapproved. They did point out that viewers were more Democratic than the general population by 12%. Still, that is an awfully strong showing of support and point to a serious headwind for Republican efforts to sidetrack Obama's initiatives and that Republican support is disappearing at a very rapid rate. No wonder there are not any "name" Republicans willing to run in the special Senate election in Massachusetts.
