Newt Advises GOP To Listen To Marco Rubio

Source: TPM

PEMA LEVY 2:10 PM EST, SUNDAY JANUARY 27, 2013

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Sunday that the Republican Party needs to be more moderate on immigration and welcoming to minorities, citing Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney's extreme views on immigration as one reason for losing the 2012 elections.

"I'd say Republicans had better listen very carefully to Marco Rubio," Gingrich said on CBS' "Face the Nation." "We also have to understand that we need to be a country of immigrants where the Republicans are seen as welcoming hardworking, competent people, not prepared to kick grandmother out."

to take the hard line immigration position.

During the republican primaries, it was pretty hard to tell the difference between what Romney or Newt said about immigration. Or any of the other clowns either for that matter.

Mom Rosa Castro never rode the back of the bus...an "uppity Chicana" back when young Mexicans were forced to anglicize their first names. Now, they have to pronounce the names correctly ... in Spanish ... in the case of the Castro twins.

Culturally, the Cuban Hispanic and Mexican Hispanic have very different roots and political realities. It's going to be an interesting four years, but the time for the Hispanic in the national political conversation is long overdue.

I am new to this forum, but I have already enjoyed going through a few threads. I picked to reply to this one, because in spite of his shortcomings, Newt does have moments of lucidity which is not normal for most GOP leaders. The GOP needs to change their party fast or face extinction (no exaggeration!).....in any case, I run a blog in the UK (started in 2008), where I spend all my time ribbing the GOP and everything to the right

I will be really pleased if you shared it with people on this forum:

Thanks and looking forward to joining more trends.

of the rich man's party stooges is stunning. Among pompous ass grifters like Newty, it's actually comical. That he would ever imagine large numbers of Latinos voting for a pendejo like Rubio because he has a Spanish name is hilarious. The policies and behaviors of the native plutocrats millions of them escaped to America to get away from are also pendejos with Spanish names.

isn't on one of the shows? What is with the "liberal media" and them wanting to give outlets to people who are wrong all the time? It's like they want to treat both sides of the aisle as equally valid or something.
