The Democratic National Committee voted Tuesday to re-elect Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida as the DNC chair. President Obama had requested that the congresswoman remain in the position, according to CNN.
Today I proudly accepted the nomination to stay on as DNC chairto continue what we do best: out-work and out-organize our way to victory.

Together, we will harness the energy, enthusiasm, and strategy that defined our campaign and channel that momentum into #progress.

(5,044 posts)Several comments. OFA does not have every valuable asset within the democratic party, they have a portion of them. We are not the ones who put in place or supported Citizens United, we have been forced to play by their rules. Play the game we will and we will play to win...
President Obama's legacy will live out for many years to come, but it is up to us to defend that legacy and keep running forward. We will build a new grass roots campaign around our party and our next nominee. Why have one organization, when we can have two...

(2,166 posts)but i will admit that I donated to OFA and not the DNC. I'm working for OFA, but it's not because I dislike the DNC in any way. I just think OFA can gotv better. However, Debbie Wasserman Schultz did do an EXCEPTIONAL job in helping with voter turnout in Florida and PA in the last election.
My hope is that one of them, either OFA, or the DNC will pay more attention to Texas and help to eventually turn it blue. Whichever one helps the most in this regard will have my undying devotion forever.
I like her... she's from my area. But I'd like to see someone who isn't such a hard line supporter of Israel leading the democratic party.

Wasserman-Schultz is not one of my favorite 3rd way Democrats.

(13,616 posts)She is the safe choice, not going to offend any of the centrists that must not be offended, and by sheer wil of the voters, Florida stayed blue. Her centrism will bite us on the ass come 2014 though, as she does NOT like to fight GOP.
