Tanker ship strikes Bay Bridge tower

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The Coast Guard is investigating a tanker ship that struck one of the towers of the Bay Bridge.
Caltrans confirms the tanker brushed up against one of the Bay Bridge towers sometime Monday morning.
The wooden bumpers on echo tower, the closest tower to Treasure Island heading east, appear to show some damage and the hull of the ship also appears to show some surface damage. The tanker does not appear to be leaking.
