Source: Omaha World Herald-AP

LINCOLN (AP) — Opponents of the Keystone XL pipeline are claiming new allies in their push to keep the project away from the Ogallala Aquifer: the Grinch and Cindy Lou Who.

The group Bold Nebraska says the two fictional Dr. Seuss characters will visit Gov. Dave Heineman's residence at noon on Christmas Eve day. The group says the Grinch will deliver gifts that symbolize landowner rights.

That sand tar is not oil. It is thick tar. Think of dirty asphalt. Dirty as in nasty chemicals that need to be dealt with.
It has to be heated to get it out of the sand, which takes lots of power. Then diluted before it will flow well enough to even put it into the pipeline. They have to mine this "oil" like coal. Oil is is not.
And to top it off, the refined "oil" will be put on takers in texas and shipped to China. If this stuff is so great, why doesn't Canada, use their own resources and use it in Canada. Or sell the after refining, finished product to us?
