A 30-day public-comment period officially began today. It will close Jan. 11 at 5 p.m.
The state Department of Environmental Conservation late last month issued a new set of proposals for regulating shale-gas drilling, a legal maneuver that bought the agency another 90 days to finalize their rules. The state now faces a late February deadline for completing the regulations.
The DEC is accepting comments online and through mail. You can submit online comments here, while paper submissions can be sent to:
