LANSING, Michigan: Eight Capitol Protesters Charged With Felonies

Last edited Mon Dec 10, 2012, 10:33 PM - Edit history (1)

Source: The State Journal

LANSING, Mich. (The State Journal) - Eight people arrested Thursday during protests at the state Capitol, who officials said tried to push through state police troopers to enter the Senate chamber, have been charged with felonies.

Each of the six men and two women - all from southeastern Michigan - face a charge of resisting, obstructing and/or opposing a police officer. They face up to two years in prison.

Ingham County Prosecutor Stuart Dunnings III said he issued the charges today.

In a statement, Dunnings said: "It was attested to me that (the protesters') tactics went beyond passive resistance, and involved physical aggression towards the police who were charged with protecting the public safety during this tumultuous debate."

..... the police rough up the protesters for NOTHING later today in Lansing. Instead of saying "The whole world is watching" and videoing with their cell phones, sing this song while they video what the police are doing. THAT my friend, would be powerful. And then immediately upload it to that big cloud up in the sky!!! Instant goosebumps!

The Nazis only illegally "won" control of Germany because social democrats were too busy harassing other leftists to allow a united front against the threat. It would never have gotten that far if the SPD had at least left the KPD alone.

The comparison is more apt than most are willing to admit.

I live in SW MI. Believe me- it's a fair comparison.

Chancellor by President Hindenburg in Jan. 1933. In the final Reichstag elections before Hitler's appointment, the Nazi Party's share of the vote nationally actually declined by about 1%. Yes, one can point to sectarian disputes on the left. But the real blame lies with that putz Van Papen and the senile Hindenburg (who makes Reagan look like a model of intellectual acuity).

cops are not paid to think, they just obey whomever happens to be their masters at the time. All governments have goons with guns. In some other countries, firebombs and other misslies are thrown at the goons. Don't doubt that the machine guns and tanks would come out if those methods of showing outrage were used here. It's happened before. Check out veterans bonuses from after WW1. I'm not calling for it--just to be clear.

their 'big toys and guns', indeed.

Not all mind you...but way to many leo's think that way.

Watching the interviews and attitudes of the Michigan State Police from last Thursday, they are just itching for it, big time.

...that's what they'd do, and probably a few innocent bystanders to boot. Not a smart thing to do in a protest. I hope no anarchist plants show up today. Because the media (or media plants) will be right there to film every bit of it.

Prosecutor basing his charges on hearsay. I'd like to see how people who are actually armed and "charged with protecting the public safety" see this unarmed, protesting public as endangering public safety OR the armed police.

Give me a f-ing break. They are there to make a big mountain out of a mole hill, so they can get the picture. A big glossy picture to plaster on their front page of the paper and on the internet. HOPING that it will discourages people from showing up to protest tomorrow.

I'm telling you...if this picture dissuades someone from participating in the protest, that person doesn't belong at the protest in the first place. Why didn't they show the police officers who were supposedly harmed? Let's see the bruises, the blood, the scratches, the torn uniforms. There are none.

republicans vs progressive globalists. As soon as President Obama has transformed the country to a progressive, socialist track away from capitalist policies that ignite the action by our courageous brothers and sisters against the republicanist agenda, we will light the way for the rest of the world to finally unite.

If it comes to the streets, let there be blood spilt. I have no doubt some of it will be mine, but I'll be DAMNED!! if I let capitalism survive one iota in my lifetime, which finances republcanism.

THIS is why I say the republican party is the most repressive, evil organization in the history of the world, and I included the Nazis and the crony capitalists who tried to take over communism in Eastern Asia. In reality, capitalism and republicanism is the root of all that has ever been evil in humanity. Period.
