Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) took a shot at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) Tuesday, saying she is dragging our brand down.
She is a horrible leader, Tillis said of Greene, according to audio played on CNNs Erin Burnett OutFront. She is dragging our brand down. She not the Democrats are the biggest risk to us getting back to a majority. He added that the Georgia Republican is uninformed and a total waste of time, per the clip, highlighted my Mediaite.
His criticism comes as Greene has been in the spotlight over her motion to vacate threat against Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and her outspoken opposition to providing more aid to Ukraine in its war against Russia.
A package of foreign aid bills including Ukraine and Israel aid easily passed the House over the weekend, and after debate, advanced through the Senate earlier Tuesday. President Biden is expected to sign the bills Wednesday. Following the House vote, Greene lashed out at Johnson and her GOP colleagues who helped push the additional aid through. She specifically called out the Speaker as a traitor, in a post on social media platform X.

(21,151 posts)Maybe you and your ilk shouldn't have spent 60 years making her.
Greene is not the cause of the GOP's problem, she is the effect, as is the rabid MAGA base. This is the monster the republican party has created, decades in the making.
Maybe Senator Tillis is in the wrong party, though more likely, he is in the wrong profession.

(47,589 posts)made promises to their base just to get their votes. As the years passed and those promises repeatedly went unfulfilled, their poorly educated voters lost patience and started sending their own candidates to DC. That is how we ended up with people like Marjorie Taylor Greene, Tommy Tuberville, Lauren Boebert, George Santos, etc.
I remember a time when republican politicians tended to be a bit more upper crust and often Ivy League educated and the Democratic politicians were more likely to be blue collar and down to earth. Now Republicans frequently accuse Democrats as being the "elite", but there was a time when that tag applied more to them.

(52,318 posts)Your brand is being unpopular on virtually every issue, then lying and cheating and distracting in order to impose your horrible agenda on America.
Imagine selling poop, hiring a spokesperson, telling them to hawk it and tell people it's candy, then blaming the spokesperson when the poop doesn't sell.
The problem is not the spokesperson.

(285 posts)at the end of the third paragraph - "more aid to Ukraine in its war against Russia"
Does this strike anyone else as backwards?
It is not "Ukraine's war against Russia". It is Ukraine's defense of its nation from Russian invasion. Or Ukraine's struggle against Russia's unprovoked invasion of a democratic nation. Or something.
It is not Ukraine's war, at least not in terms of who started it and who is prolonging it.
Very tangential to the OP's point. But it still bothers me.

(5,434 posts)Green, Boebert and Santos spout the GOP brand proudly and loudly.
A bit too loudly - they aren't being subtle enough. It embarrasses some on the GOP team.
No deniable culpability in the joy and blatant dumbness those three spout. (Past tense for George.)
May the 'gurls' go the same way as George - exit stage right, don't come back.
