(1,010 posts)A (young male) college student or young man is seen stumbling around after a night at the bars. They are missing, then found in the lake (Lake Michigan).
The implication from the news is always that the missing person was drunk/incapacitated and somehow ended up in the water and drowned.
Then the story disappears until the next time.

(11,683 posts)Right-wing nut David Paulides has a background as a decent police detective. He has compiled many cases that have multiple coincidences where young drunk men disappear only to be found dead in a body of water. I have debated his take for years yet in many of the cases, evidence, eyewitnesses, and odd parallels abound and no smiley-face killer or accidental death could account for them.

(2,816 posts)Sorry for his family and friends. Might have been drunk and might have decided to try and pee in the river. Pro tip never go near water at night, you might misjudge where it is. Better to pee by the path or on a tree. Plus one is supposed to pee some distance from any body of water anyways.

(1,065 posts)When I was in college, a similar thing happened to one of my fraternity brothers. It was winter. He left the party we were at early. He had stepped out onto what he thought was a frozen river. He fell and broke the ice and got stuck in the current under the frozen surface. It was awful.
