Republicans Push Back Against Charge Of Preparing Surrender On Bush Tax Cuts

Eric Cantor's former top spokesman Brad Dayspring wants to set the record straight about the Bush tax cuts.
The GOP needs to claim victories on taxes as they come – not by passing the Schumer tax increase, but by calling out the massive Democratic cave and admonition that lower rates are beneficial. Republicans should highlight that, it's a ideological inconsistency for Democrats on the tax issue, and we need to get back on offense rhetorically.
The statement comes in response to Democrats -- including Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) -- who say Republicans are preparing a rhetorical framework for caving on the issue. After GOP Rep. Tom Cole argued to fellow Republicans that they should acede to President Obama's tax demands, Dayspring and other GOP communicators argued that Obama's initial ask represents a huge move in the GOP's direction, because it makes most of the Bush tax cuts permanent. However he cautions that Obama's tax plan faces too much GOP opposition to pass in the House.

We should make sure the press puts out the word that keeping the lower taxes for 98% is a GOP idea and increasing the taxes for 2% is a democratic idea. Then they can say they held the line and the liberals pushed for a tax increase as per normal.
The fair share idea will progress and the GOP will cover 98% of their lock step ideal.

have raised the deficit to its 16 Trillion Dollar + level, what do the Republicans blame for this debt: "entitlements."

We do not have a sixteen trillion dollar deficit. We have a sixteen trillion dollar Debt. The Debt is created because of all the Annual deficits that have been run over the years.. Clinton oversaw Budget surpluses and was actually beginning to pay down the Debt, then along came Bush* and Republican economics and every year of the Bush* Administration we saw Record deficits. The first two years of the Obama Administration we also saw record Deficits but they have since started to fall and it is conceivable that by the end of his term we may actually see a Surplus again.. Democrats do that. they manage the country's finances quite well while Republicans on the other hand do the exact opposite. Reagan tripled the National Debt, Bush 1 raised it by another trillion dollars and Bush* the lessor doubled the Debt after Clinton had been reducing it....And for some mysterious reason people think Republicans know what they are talking about when it comes to the nation's economy..
