Jeb Bush In 2016?

Source: http://nation.foxnews.com/jeb-bush/2012/11/23/jeb-

Jeb Bush, brother and son of former Bush presidents, is said to be mulling a presidential run in 2016, according to the New York Times.

The Times cites Bush supporters and friends in its report that the former Florida governor is "weighing financial and family considerations" for a future run.

Though Bush remains popular in Florida and has garnered national attention with his support for immigration and education reform, there is lingering concern that the persistent unpopularity of the last Bush to hold the White House, his brother President George W. Bush, could hinder his bid.

I put a similiar thread up earlier yesterday, but Hillary will creme Jeb.

Though he is a formidable candidate and will attempt to use the education issue, and the fact that his wife is Mexican as an asset to run

also running as a supposed "Sane" centrist republican as opposed to the far right loons that run the party.

Hillary will romp. I predict Hillary to get 400-450 electoral votes, though I fear Texas may not go blue if Jeb runs.

I do disagree that Clinton would win that many EVs.

Assuming she won all the states this year and she flipped Indian and North Carolina back (24EV) which puts her at 358.

Assuming she flipped Missouri and Arkansas she'd be at 374.

The question is where the other 26 to 76 EVs would come from. After that you are talking about flipping a deep south red state, midwest state, mountain state, or the only state left in the southwest which is Arizona.

Sat Nov 24, 2012, 07:21 PM
Nov 2012

She had the perfect strategy to win, against what she thought were her challengers.
she had not expected President Obama to run, and once he ran, he took the very voters she needed to win against the other candidates.

As I wrote on a different board in 2006-7, before President Obama got in the race, outlining how she would run and win, step by step (with many naysayers saying she would never enter the race, that she denied it then, etc.) and in effect, that precise strategy I wrote of at that time was how President Obama ran and won.

She had it won and it was a genius plan, but President Obama's surprise entry waylaid it and he used it and won.

He is term limited to not run, and with his 100% blessing, she will defeat the repulblican and prior, will win the nomination. Her coming hints will keep out most contenders who are not attempting to be #2(VP) and she would easily cream the remaining ones.

Like it or not, the system is set up to insure it, much the same way Jeb on the other side saw some recent changes all to benefit him.

Again, she only lost 2008 because of President Obama and her credentials this time are so much better, especially to President Obama's voters.
Does anyone doubt he (and even more important Michelle), will endorse her at the proper time?

You can be sure this would come up because of the special treatment of the rich and powerful. Note how she beat a crack charge because witnesses refused to testify and were allowed to get away with it. Interesting how easy it was for drugs to get inside the drug treatment facility and how forgiving the courts were to these drug violations, which have now been wiped from the record.

spend their time preparing their students for specific tests which will minimize critical
analyzation and thinking skills which will hinder their ability to solve problems beyond filling
out correct numbers on the test.

He is also a proponent of school privatization which is turning out to be so dangerous.
Our country is just beginning to access the damage done to country by the college privatization
industry. A total rip off with tens of thousands left strapped with insurmountable debt.

Finally, give me a fucking poor school district with the same amount of tax dollars per
person as a school in a wealthy area and I'll have the school running as well as any other
school in the country. More money means better teachers, better technology, better
administration policies, better lab equipment, less students per teachers, Better after school
programs and healthier food. Yea when it comes to better schools, its all about the money.

I do not believe that most of the 51 million people who voted for Al Gore will forgive Jeb Bush for his enabling.

And then there is the fact that we are still suffering from the consequences of the Bush (George W. Bush*) legacy. This recession which some economists have called a depression can be traced as to its depths by the harm George W. Bush did during the 8 years he occupied the Oval Office. And Jeb helped him get there.

The late great Molly Ivins warned us about George W. Bush.* She said prior to election 2000, Bush* had tanked the state of Texas' finances during his reign as governor there. She followed that up with a statement that now he was coming to Washington to do the same to the Country. How right she was.

GW Bush's legacy is still negatively affecting us. We should not stop pointing the finger at him until all the mess he created have been fixed up. I'm putting that at a 30 year plan, starting at 2009. So basically, after 2040, the Bush name is back to normal. But that doesn't mean we should be electing any Bush's. We should just not trash the name by then.

The Republicans nominated Romney because they couldn't think of anyone else to nominate. Huntsman might have been a formidable opponent, but he wasn't rich enough or malleable enough, and got nowhere. He may even have had a conscience hidden somewhere, and that is a BIG no-no for Republicans.

So, besides Rubio and Jeb, who do they have for 2016? Rand Paul? I don't think so. Well, there's always Romney, of course, but I think this time, he'll have had enough.

Despite her obvious qualifications for the job, Hillary will be 69 by election day, 2016. I doubt that she would want to run, and the thought of having to run a 69 year old against a youthful sleazeball who looks good on magazine covers (Rubio) is scary considering the media-addicted electorate in front of whom she'd be competing.

Right after Obama's inauguration in 2009, Howard Dean said he would never even consider running after Obama's second term was over. He said he thought he was too old, and that Obama was already old enough (!). We should be looking for some wise-beyond-his/her-years 40-something who do both jobs: the campaigning, and the presidency, once won. They'll make mistakes because they'll be new, but they'll learn.

In other words, in terms of age, we should looking for another Bill Clinton (or another Barack Obama).

The only reason he never had a chance is because he is sane and open to compromising. He's not the type of guy who would be Grover Norquist's empty suit with working digits like Romney.

(I got odd those numbers from a Politico headline)

She comes from a fairly long lived family, Dad lived to be 82, Mom 92, but I cannot imagine that she would have either the stamina or desire to put herself through the rigors of 2 campaigns @ nearly 69 and 73 years old.

We already saw what they did to their dangling and jerking marionettes in the recent primaries, and the teabaggers were in a pretty good mood this time around. But President Obama's re-election has made them mad.

I'd love to see Jebbie try to take them on when they're really pissed. I don't know whether to shake in terror or laugh hysterically in anticipation.

The thought of you being president opens up many wounds. The possibility that George W. would be wandering the halls of the white house again makes my skin crawl. Give it up. You are done politically. Take care of you mom and dad and be content with that.

I can tell you that Jeb Bush is not popular at all with Glenn Beck's fans, they all think he is too liberal. I can not figure out for the life of me why they consider him to be liberal, but they are very determined to make sure he does not get the nomination. If he can't win the far-right and the Bush name is toxic to anyone who is not far right then I don't see how he could possibly win.

Since 1928, the Republicans have not won a presidential election without either Richard Nixon or a member of the Bush Family on its ticket.

As long as a Bush remains in play the Republicans have a fighting chance.

They want power, they don't care about a vision of a better world for everyone. It's all about power and serving their own small circle of interests. They just don't see the benefit of a world free of poverty and violence. The Bush family is a prime example of this sickness.

Liberals and progressives need to figure out a way to keep these reprobates out of public office. If we actually prosecuted corporate criminals for the damage they do, it would be a start. But we don't even do that, at least not now. We are not in a safe place by a long shot. This last election was a battle, not the war.

It's all about the Presidential records. President Obama is not permitted to throw open the books on the GWB administration, but the next President can.

If that were to happen, the people of the GWB Administration would be opened up to an outpouring of evidence in an array of serious crimes--violating the NARA Act is one obvious one for which they are clearly going to be liable, but it is probably also the least serious. There is no statute of limitations on murder, for example.

GWB himself protected his father's administration by putting most of the Bush the Smarter documents under lock and key. Jeb has to do the same, or the framework of their lifetimes of criminal behavior would be exposed.

So he's going to steal it. He can't win fairly--not one of the sixty million people who voted for President Obama will seriously consider voting for Jeb--and he can't afford to lose.

So I expect him to kill or crush everyone who stands in his way--unless we can dig up enough dirt on him in the next three years to ruin his chances.

If you want to see the Shrub people put away forever, this is how you do it: destroy Jeb Bush's electoral viability, then swarm the polls to make sure he can't steal it anyway, then compel the new Democratic President to release the GWB records, and watch 'em all scurry like roaches when the kitchen lights are turned on.

They don't like Christie. Rubio is just an empty suit. Jindal has the charisma of sawdust. Ryan just lost on one presidential ticket as a lackluster VP candidate so his days in the national spotlight are probably over for at least a good while.

Jebbo might win the nomination for the same reason Romney won: his party doesn't particulary like him but they don't really seem to have any better alternatives.
