Source: AP

RATES FALL: An increase in hiring helped lower unemployment rates in 37 U.S. states last month, the latest indication that the job market is slowly healing.

WIDESPREAD IMPROVEMENT: Employers in 35 states added jobs. Unemployment rates are now below 7 percent in 23 of the 50 states. South Carolina's rate fell from 9.1 percent to 8.6 percent, the biggest drop among states. It has fallen a full percentage point in just two months.

prominent business types who predicted the mass exodus of jobs if President Obama were re-elected.
Just what is it that makes them so afraid?

The conservative polling/political class has just lost credibility when they all predicted that Romney would win by a landslide.

Now the conservative economic-guru class is about to take the hit when A) taxes go up on the rich, and the economy improves anyway, and B) all the businesses in the U.S. don't pack up and fly to Qatar and Singapore.

Next up: the stupid HMO industry and their lobby minions. When Obama puts a de facto Public Option health insurance on the exchanges that are going to be set up....

Then, after that....the stupid GUN lobby. Renew the assault weapons ban, and close the gun show loophole, and when there is DROP in crime (as a result of criminals no longer being able to gain easy access to guns) that talking point myth will be gone.

Maybe I'm an optimist, but I think this could be the tipping point.

going to get better in 2012, and they were just fighting over who would get CREDIT for it when it does. They didn't want Obama to still be in office to get credit for the economy he helped to rescue. They just wanted to be able to say "look, we elected a Republican, and the economy instantly started improving."

This tells me that all those businesses who were thinking of hiring people over the last two years, but held off on it for the sake of making Obama look bad couldn't hold their breath anymore. Tough luck, boys.

The next myth to be exploded: raising taxes on the rich will NOT hurt the economy. Taxes will go up on the wealthy, and the economy will improve 'anyway,' destroying yet another Republican talking point. But it will be worse than exploding the myth that there is no correlation between the top tax rate and economic growth. Tax rates will go up on the top income brackets while the economy is improving, suggesting a correlation between taxing the rich and economic growth. HAH! Eat it, Plutocrats!

How history will remember our 2 great modern Democratic Presidents.

FDR-Saved the country by bringing us out of a great depression.Enforced tougher banking and Wall Street regulations to prevent another crash. Implemented Social Security and won World War Two.

Obama-Saved the country from a second great depression. Ended the Reagan theory of trickle-down economics to prevent another crash. Implemented health-care. Killed OBL. Ended the "War on Terror" wars in Iraqi and Afghanistan.
