(Reuters) - A computer used by Paula Broadwell, the woman whose affair with CIA Director David Petraeus led to his resignation, contained substantial classified information that should have been stored under more secure conditions, law enforcement and national security officials said on Wednesday.

The contents and amount of the classified material - and questions about how Broadwell got it - are significant enough to warrant a continuing investigation, the officials said. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to comment publicly.

The details about material held by Broadwell, a reserve officer in military intelligence, emerged Wednesday as the Pentagon suspended her security clearance. There are growing concerns among military and law enforcement officials about the potential fallout from the affair between Petraeus and Broadwell, who co-authored a biography of the retired general.

I as a veteran, just don't agree with the pundits and everybody defending Allen's and Petraeus relationships. These two commanders were in charge of our Troops and National Security. Both are in the chain of Command under the President. These people are too cozy with the Republican Party and they do have influence over subordinates. It is a disturbing picture when you have 20,000 to 30,000 communications to our Top commander in Afghanistan by this person Kelly. They also used their rank to help her in a judicial matter which I see as an abuse.

Apparently associates like senator Fienstein see no problem with that. so that raises questions from about her associations in the military and if she is abusing her office? Bring it all out in the open so the American people can see? How does a pundit on MSNBC (S.E.) know about two democrats that will support John McCain and Lindsey Graham against Susan Rice? Spit it out S.E. since you are in loop? I think the President can handle it. So what is hatching in this web of the Black Widow?

1. Classified information, to my knowledge, can never store on unapproved computers or non government approved safes.

2. Jill Kelley. Must be a lot of senior military personnel biting their nails. She is a honorary consuler official for the government of South Korea. That, in my opinion, makes her a foreign agent. Anyone with a security clearance must report all contacts with foreign agents.

They aren't a diplomat or other government official. Possibly they may help getting a visa or something, but not actually do the issuing. Although Kelley viewed it as a title, its probably lower status than having a law degree or PHD.

This means she could have accessed the material from her own work (and we will never know because there is no way they will tell us what classified documents are there). Or, she could have gotten some from her work and some from Patreaus. This would make her a hybrid...a Bradley Assange or Julian Manning so to speak.

Broadwell is a West Point grad who is still a member of the reserves and is in military intelligence. She probably has secret or top secret clearance and the data found may very well be related to her official duties.

Now, why she had it on her home computer is a different issue.

24. Even if you have a clearance, you can't take classified info home or store it on unsecure computers.

I used to work with classified documents, and even while I was on a military base and in a secure facility, I wasn't allowed to let the document out of my sight -- ever. That meant taking the document along on walks to the coffee machine or to the bathroom.

And as far as soft copies go, you certainly aren't allowed to make copies of documents, as they can only be viewed on secure computers.

The fact that Broadwell broke all these rules is no doubt the reason her clearance was revoked.

I would speculate that the answer is yes but who is driving that machine? I suspect that it may be something outside of government, there are entities that are as powerful or maybe more so than some governing bodies. Certain fossil fuel outfits come to mind, some of which have been operating in the gulf since WWII. Some of them have merged to become the most powerful entities on the planet. Another reason to eschew fossil fuels, and somehow dismantle the mic. Just my musings but I'm sure there's something to it since it's always about the oil and revenues acquired through that commodity. Mic can't function all that well without constant supply of that one element... the second most important commodity being humans to shoot weapons and to be shot at, makes for the emotive factor that recruits public support.
