(17,338 posts)I guess he could refuse to take up the criminal referral she is making to SDNY/Bragg.

(11,824 posts)...I don't see how Bragg could wiggle his way out of it. Or, perhaps he was just letting her do the heaving lifting in the investigation. I don't know anymore. I'm so sick of this family, I wish they would just get on a rocket, fly off into space, and we never hear from them again until they get sucked into a black hole and end up in a singularity from which they will never escape.

(2,388 posts)She used the legalese for it in her presentation, but she just said explicitly that they were going to ask for dissolution of his companies.😂😂😂😂
Wait
now she just contradicted herself because tRump will continue to have a financial interest in these companies.
Im confused.
Edit: Ari Melber said that she IS looking to dissolve his companies, but (can) not force the sale of his properties. Thats where he maintains his financial interest. Of course, if he has to sell properties to pay the financial penalties
🤷?♂️😂

(1,526 posts)I have a question that I hope someone can answer. Shortly after Trump finally left office his loans on his New York properties came due. I, And many others, thought that he would be unable to secure refinancing due to the fact that his properties were known to be grossly overvalued.
then, with little fanfare, I saw an article saying that he had secured full refinancing from some bank Ive never heard of.
That in and of itself looked like a corrupt transaction. Does anyone know anything about any sort of investigatory activity about that refinancing?
Yay, AG Leticia James!

(45,547 posts)lots of sketchiness around that since the Trump organization has such squishy financial reports that their longtime accounting firm, Mazars USA, dropped them as a client.
I'm sure they're investigating it.

(10,095 posts)The refinancing by Axos Bank, whose president has donated to Trump's political campaigns, comes as the Trump Organization is under a cloud of scrutiny and questions have swirled about the state of the business.
The loan was signed days after New York investigators made public a letter from Mazars USA, the former President's longtime accounting firm, stating that the Trump Organization and its lenders should no longer rely on 10 years of financial statements. The Trump Organization has retained another accounting firm.
The Trump Organization's new lender is led by Gregory Garrabrants, who donated nearly $10,000 to campaigns associated with Trump since 2020.

(15,556 posts)Well, I guess his two weeks is up!
Karma has come for that loser family and I couldn't be happier. Can't wait for more J6 exposure of his criminality.
Oh, and Leticia James is a badass woman. How many times I have written on DU that it will be the women who take him down.

(57,073 posts)Ya, 2 wks. Right. Along with his healthcare plan, etc., etc., etc.
I cannot wait to see her prosecute this case!

(6,225 posts)I do believe his house of cards is collapsing.; 2024 election ship is on the rocks.
But there's still more to come. We have the Georgia phone call, false electors, and the J6th insurrection on going.
I imagine Ron DeSantis is dancing on his table today...but wait, he's got problems of his own with the immigrant flight.
Wouldn't it be a shame if they both saw their 2024 chances sink?

(5,853 posts)Some talking head said that it's law: anyone convicted of this sort of financial fraud has loans called in immediately. Some talking heads are speculating that some institutions will start calling them in now if they think it's likely he'll lose.
It may take years to completely shake out, but it appears that by the time it does, he will be completely penniless. Oh, sweet schadenfreude.

(57,073 posts)And it is a woman of color bringing him down!
Can't wait for her to prosecute!
