According to one Tea Party leader, the reason for Mitt Romney’s loss to President Barack Obama is that he was not conservative enough and was “weak-kneed” and a throwback to Bob Dole and John McCain...

In a press statement, entitled “Tea Party Vows "No Retreat" and a subtitle “Promise to search out candidates with clear conservative records; no more Dole-McCain-Romney nominees”, the group leaders said the following:

A group Leaders of the Tea Party News Network (TPNN) and TheTeaParty.net offered an unflinching assessment of Election Day results. Todd Cefaratti, editor of the Tea Party News Network said, "We're disappointed in Governor Romney's loss. But this goes to the heart of what we have been saying all along. Bob Dole didn't win. John McCain didn't win. And now Mitt Romney hasn't won. The lesson the GOP and Americans need to learn is that weak-kneed Republicans do not get elected. Conservatives do."

"The Tea Party has not yet begun to fight. It's time for a wholesale reassessment of the D.C. establishment politicians and party grandees who have no commitment or courage to reduce the size of government. We now have another four years ahead of us with Barack Obama leading the charge against liberty," TPNN News Director Scottie Hughes said. "There were some bright spots tonight from Ted Cruz to Jeff Flake, to a decisive win in the U.S. House where Tea Partiers have a mandate to stand against Obama's big government second-term agenda. The cliff's just a few more inches away. I think tomorrow, there will definitely be a schism in the GOP party with the moderates and rationals leaving to join the Democratic party. The GOP will become a shadow of its former self, run by a bunch of crazed, rabid yokels. In time, the Democratic party will split with a liberal side and a center-right side, both with some semblance of rationality (they both would agree on global warming, but may disagree on how to best combat it, but will only use scientists and economists to debate out the better policy position, rather than demagogues). I expect that in the next 16 years.

Notwithstanding what Lindsey Graham said on the subject. Gerrymandering saved the Republicans in the House but the incoming Senate will be substantially more liberal than the outgoing Senate as a direct result of Tea Party "success" in the primaries.

Also, interesting to note that the one Republican that has won since Dole lost in 1996 got no mention whatsoever -- his name is George W. Bush. He is the one that created most of the mess we face today so nobody in the Republican Party wants to be seen with him. So what is this loser trying to say? The soul searching in the Republican Party will last for another 6-8 years. My guess is that the Tea Party will attempt to nominate a Hispanic like Rubio or Cruz, thinking that wins the Hispanic vote and give them the win. The huge problem there is that neither Rubio nor Cruz will support the Republican platform on immigration. Romney tried to have his cake and eat it too and that didn't turn out to well so I don't think you can just slap a Hispanic name on top of that and still be successful and that is why it will take another 6-8 years for the Republicans to respond. There is no clear path forward for them.
