Fiery Dem Alan Grayson to rejoin House

Former Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) beat Republican opponent Todd Long and will return to the House for his second, non-consecutive term, the Associated Press reported.

Grayson is remembered for his fiery temper — he once called some members of the GOP "right-wing lunatics" — and liberal politics. He will represent Florida's new and heavily Democratic 9th District.

"It feels great," Grayson said Tuesday night, according to the Orlando Sentinel. "I'm going to do my best when it comes to jobs, when it comes to housing, when it comes to education [and] when it comes to human needs."

Only 26% of precincts have been counted here in NM, but so far Obama is beating Romney by a margin of 34%. That's better than he did in 2008 and I hope it holds up. It has so far, and most of the precincts that have been counted are in the southern part of the state.

To accept the official totals giving Stupid a 4000 vote victory, you have to accept the preposterous notion that 17,000 people left their warm houses to stand in line to vote for one county judge and ignore the national election.

That's why we got paper ballots in 2005 and that's why we're no longer considered a battleground state.

Former Rep. Alan Grayson, a Democrat, won his House race in Florida on Tuesday night over his Republican challenger Todd Long. Grayson was first elected in 2008, but lost in the Tea Party wave of 2010.

He noted Tuesday night to HuffPost that his turnaround is the biggest on record in the history of House. No other candidate had lost by 18 points in one year, only to turn around and win the next cycle by 25 -- a 43-point swing.

And lots of door knocking and Grayson flyers even outside of the 9th district. I believe this helped with the Florida result on a whole.
