State increases Clackamas election oversight

.... Kate Brown announced she'll send another state elections official into Clackamas County after word broke Friday that a temporary elections worker may have tampered with ballots. Brenda Bayes, the state's deputy elections director, will join Fred Neal in monitoring the counts.
Brown also assigned a private security guard and a state trooper to oversee access to the building. ....
... Our Oregon has begun circulating an online petition "demanding a fair election in Clackamas County." Our Oregon, which generally backs left-leaning causes, said Clackamas's County Clerk Sherry Hall "has a record of making politically charged statements that have revealed her right-wing bias, raising doubts around the state that she can administer a fair election."
Our Oregon points out that the Clackamas vote could tilt the balance in the state's tightly contested race for control of Oregon's House of Representatives. The House was split 30-30 during the 2011 full session and 2012 short session. .....
