CNN: Obama 50, Romney 48 in Colorado

Source: CNN/Politico

CNN has some new numbers out of Colorado this afternoon, just before President Barack Obama's visit there and after Paul Ryan's rally earlier today:

According to a CNN/ORC International poll, 50% of likely voters in Colorado support Obama, with 48% backing the former Massachusetts governor. The president's two-point margin is well within the survey's sampling error.

The poll's Thursday release also came just two hours after Rep. Paul Ryan, the GOP running mate, headlined a rally in Greeley, Colorado. The top line results of the CNN survey are very similar to an American Research Group poll conducted this past weekend which had Romney at 48% and Obama at 47%, and an NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll conducted last week which suggested the race was tied up at 48%.

As in most swing states, there is a fairly big gender gap, with the CNN poll indicating Romney ahead among men by 10 points and Obama winning women by 13 points. Income is also an important indicator, with the president holding a big lead among lower-income voters, while voters with more than $50,000 in income last year are tied at 49% for Romney and 49% for Obama.

I bet the RV numbers have Obma with at least a 5% lead.

Part of GOTV is targeting sporadic and new voters, who are not going to show up in these poll numbers.

At 65%.

Over all, his chances are 80.1%!

My states' chances, OH, are pegged at 80% and FL's chances has risen to 45%.

Go Nate!

I mean Obama!

The Libertarian candidate, Gary Johnson, is running hard on legalization in Colorado and might win 4% or 5%. The question is whether he takes more votes from Obama or Romney.

He's practically a favorite son--being that the 2008 Democratic National Convention was held here. This CNN pole is great news since the last poles had them actually tied.

Go Obama! Colorado, show our favorite son some love!

The more the merrier. Then even if a state result is disputed due to "glitches" Obama can be declared the winner regardless. A little cushion would be ideal.
